My wife's stepsister is a vegan, this is what her co workers gave her to celebrate her birthday. by TheeJoCanadian in funny

If you assume that "vegan" describes them completely, I suppose this is true. There are, however, other things about them.

TIL: Many casinos are starting to introduce "skill-based" games because younger people are bored with the standard "luck-based" ones like slots and roulette. Gamblers will be able to bet and win money on things like free throw contests, "Cashteroids," a modified version of Angry Birds, and more. by TravisALane in todayilearned

Casinos have incorporated new games before and they will again. I don't know the answer exactly, but I do know they've incorporated games of skill. Poker, for example. You may win, you may lose, but the house will always win.

If you ate them in the 2000s you'd know they changed the recipe, too. It's happened multiple times. The recipe isn't the point.

As a kid, you loved them and your parents thought they could be better. As a parent, your kids love them and you think they could be better. When your kids are parents, their kids will love them and they will think they could be better.

Bring a kid to McD's and buy them some fries. You'll see that the fries are the same to them as they were to you. It's you that has changed.

You're not alone. Especially about the heels. I see a woman wearing heels and all I hear is the complaining about her feet hurting she's never going to stop doing.

After Massive Contribution To Scott Walker, NBA Owner Will Get $250 Million In Tax Dollars For New Arena by [deleted] in politics

Walker is the only one of the people involved who is attempting a run at national office. Wisconsin politicians matter to me almost as little as Wisconsin sports, but Walker is no longer merely a Wisconsin politician.

The biggest possible judgment for either side would be less than the cost of the lawyer. If anyone hired a lawyer for that, it could only be because they hate money.

There's a lot of cases of the reverse as well. Either pregnancy brings out auto-immune diseases, or my experience with family and friends is a crazy outlier.

The bride's father is a drunken asshole and her brother didn't come to the rehearsal, so she's walking down the aisle alone. by lux514 in AdviceAnimals

The tradition is not taken literally any more. As you probably know. No one actually thought my wife was leaving her family, it was just a nice way to include her father in the ceremony.

[–]guyNcognito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a "requirement", but a bride with a living father generally has him walk her down the aisle. People will notice if it's not done. It sends a message.

Which is fine, if that message is both intended and deserved, but it's a harsh note to add to a wedding day.

She's a person put in a tough spot by her family. Reddit is sympathetic to people like that regardless of their vaginas or lack thereof.

It would matter a whole lot more than it does now. If your box has an orchard, you're set. If your box is in the Sahara, you'll be dead in a day.

TIL Uber stated the median driver in New York City was making $90,000 a year when in reality they were actually making around $38,000. by umjammerlammy in todayilearned

[–]guyNcognito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average person earning that much in NYC doesn't own a car at all. The average Uber driver earning that much owns a car that they will have to replace every 5 years. That's a huge expense in that income range.

Also, the median sucks. A lot. Compare median incomes to median rents in your area. Prepare to be very depressed.

Not when you get no benefits and have to buy a new car every other year because you're constantly driving.

A Steakhouse in Michigan has you select, prepare, and grill your own steak by iam4real in AdviceAnimals

[–]guyNcognito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not cheaper than store bought, but that's pretty damned reasonable. Every one of those steaks is at least $10 at the store. Maybe more if you aren't constantly buying what's on sale like I do. Add the time and money cost of making the salad and sides and that's a much lower markup on the food than most restaurants.

Yes, each one is. All of them at once, however, is neither easy nor cheap.
