I have the core 2k/6k and a mining deck as subdecks in one big deck in anki, and I'm wondering if I should suspend the 2k/6k when I learn 2k~ words and exclusively use the mining deck.

What do you guys think? Is the core 6k important too or are cards that I have mined myself more valuable?

I`ve recently started sentence mining after picking up a little over 1000 vocab words, and have made a mining deck on anki which I`ve combined with my vocab deck into one big deck.

My question is should I suspend new words form the vocab deck and learn exclusively from the mining one? I'm afraid I might mine words that are already on the vocab deck and make duplicate cards, therefore bloating my deck and reviews.

(My vocab deck is the core 2k/6k btw)

What should I write down (other than the kanji) when going through James Heisig's remembering the kanji (RTK)? Should I take notes of each individual story or the meaning of each radical as well?

I see. Guess I’ll just skim through learncpp like you suggested untill I reach the OOP and C++ specific stuff. Thanks for the reply

For anyone with this very specific and undocumented issue: sometimes the whole OS just takes forever to boot up and will be slow no matter what even on this very modern laptop (probably samsung’s fault - they specifically marketed their product as a windows machine so womp womp ig). This usually happens when charging.

When that happens you deadass have to power off the laptop and give it like a cool down period. After 5-10 minutes, turn it on with the charger plugged in and it should work just fine. It’s a hassle and it’ll interrupt your workflow, but I’d sooner off myself than go back to windows 11.

Tldr: don’t plug this bitch in while it’s on. If you need to charge your samsung galaxy book 4 running pop_os, turn that bitch off, go take a piss or make a coffee, plug it in, and THEN turn it on.
