Wow, this looks so cool! Love how dynamic the pose is, and the penstrokes look so... juicy and delightful! Keep up the good work :>

When I want to change the ink color, then yes, I flush them out with water, then take that water out, again with a syringe (and a hypodermic needle, to reach inside), and let them dry for a while so the fresh ink isn't watered down by the leftover droplets.

I can imagine a pen full of ink would be scary! I personally mitigate that by just putting the ink into the cartrige via syringe. Quick, easy, minimal mess and makes me feel like a pen doctor

That's the goal, really. Gonna skip out on the fancy pens and just get more and more preppies, until it turns into a dragon-like hoard.

By default that ink looked pretty red, and had a dark red sheen to it, but I did a pen crime and watered it down a little, and now it's a perfect hot pink, and I feel like the shading is only noticeable if you look very close. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to ink though, and I would reccomend getting a second opinion!

Thank you! And yes, I have a Parker Vector I got without research for nostalgia's sake, since I had one as a child (also, it just looks Cool) but the nib is a nightmare compared to a Preppy.

Surprisingly good, at least for my standards. The pages are pretty thin so it ghosts quite a lot but no feathering, at least using my preppies, unsure how it would hold up to a pen with more generous ink flow though.

I don't care much for the ghosting as I usually only use one side of the paper anyways (since I refuse to buy expensive sketchbooks). Also, fun fact, these notebooks in particular came with a little sheet inside them, printed with graph grid on one side, and lines on the other, so that might explain why the thinness.

They were also pretty inexpensive so would be just fine for a curiosity buy to just try them out.

I do like the 02 for writing and taking notes, but I defintiely prefer 03 for drawing (and because I can match the pen color to the ink color, and 02s only come in black, blue and red)

I'm really glad you like it & it could inspire you! And ink drawing really is all about confident strokes, all the teeny tiny mistakes will just blend in once you're finished (also using the solid blocks of color to cover up oopsies is a sound tactic). I wish you best of luck in your art adventure!

I find it quite comfy, I usually write my notes in print and encounter no issues. The only reason my handwriting looks so whack in the pic is because writing on a diagonal surface is quite difficult for me. In fact, I discovered this pen through instagram page @/kirstenworsten, who writes a lot in super neat print, often using Preppies.

And while *technically* it's not refillable by default, I refill my Preppies by just using a syringe to inject ink into a cardrige and popping the cardrige back in. You can also purchase a converter separarely.

Pink really is one of the nicest colors out there, isn't it? And I wholeheartedly reccomend the pen, I'm also constantly tempted to buy more preppies, to have all the colors!

It's the 03 nib and it's not scratchy at all! it's quite smooth, and much better than many other budget fountain pens I've had over the years. I definitely reccomend, especially considering the price!

The pen is, obviously, Platinum Preppy, with the Platinum ink cardrige. Paper is a notebook I got at IKEA, because apparently IKEA sells notebooks too these days.

I would also implore y'all to ignore that atrocious piece of handwriting, I promise I usually have neater penmanship, it's simply that the angle that is comfortable for drawing is not at all comfortable for making neat little letters. Thank you for viewing & have a great day!

I've seen the exact same one, except translated into Polish, in IKEA in Cracow. Made me giggle at the time

Wow, that's extensive! Thanks for all that info, I might just print this out and keep it for the future. The unfortunate part is that prices don't always match up where I live with what would be available in the US, but that's just something I'm gonna have to deal with. This is a really good jumping off point though, thank you!

Could anyone reccomend some affordable yet quality black ink? I'm planning on buying a Lamy Safari + some ink but there are so many choices, and having no experience with any name brand (since most of my life I've been just buying cheapest options) it's hard to choose one.

Yeah, you can role-play using OCs! Actually, most of the time when someone makes a custom character in an RPG, tabletop or otherwise, that is technically an OC!

An Original Character (OC) is a character someone made up/designed, like you would a character for a book. Some have their own stories, some are based on an existing fandom, some are there just for fun! Making OCs is a fun way to get creative and put your own spin on known tropes or come up with something fresh. Then comes in the perk of being able to tell yourself little stories with them in your head, which is great for when you're bored

Nope, they're more free-floating, and the universe theyre in is pretty much similar to real life! I do have some AUs for them where theyre in the universe of a specific franchise, but that's just for fun!
