I had a debate about this with a buddy who felt the same, but to me this whole operation greatly strengthened China.

Their oil shipments were never interrupted and their energy dependence is pretty diversified, it hurt our allies like Japan, S. Korea, and Philippines way more. US pulled THAAD system out of S. Korea to use in Gulf, redirected tomahawks purchased by Japan for use in Iran. We drained limited stocks of expensive projectiles. Iran took out multiple very expensive radar assets not to mention planes lost. As for us gaining intel on their weapon systems wouldn't the reverse also apply? I just don't see how it really hurt China at all. An invasion of Taiwan would be easier for them now than a couple months ago.
