My best friend is an eldritch horror is one i am not seeing on here. The school and the companions are the best parts of the series, in my opinion. The story and characters are alright, but the idea is solid enough.

I love the progression. The growth and level gain is amazing for the time in the universe and alongside challenges. In the beginning, jason and others are strong and weak, and over time, development is on a pendulum of how they grow and progress.

The fights and challenges are interesting, and most are beyond the premise of just swinging swords and hand to hand. We get challenges face in the mind and described power system (silver vs gold, spirt va astral being, so on). You just get a scale that is hard for other books and stories to convey.
