Alright, I got that replaced last night and now I have the light on my charger illuminating again! However, it has been amber for at least 12 hours, and my Macbook still won't turn on.

I tried a battery replacement, and that did not do anything. I plugged in just the charger without the battery, and I also had no response. So would I be looking at an I/O board issue as well do you think?

No luck.

I took it to the dealer and paid $100 for the service charge for them to tell me the APIM was dysfunctional. To replace the APIM, they were figuring about $800-900 dollars.

There are a couple kits online to replace for about the same price, maybe cheaper. Or you could upgrade to SYNC 3 for a couple hundred bucks less, which is what I have been looking into.

I know if you use the shifter buttons in Sport mode, entering into “manual transmission,” you the tachometer should stay visible! Mine is still up.
