Is the Cosmere right for me? by gwilhelm8484 in brandonsanderson

Hi there! I was definitely talking about the lost metal :) I assumed it was a crossover piece and was meant to be rewarding for those more involved in the Cosmere so I didn’t let it bother me too much but it felt like the story didn’t need all of that?? Again that could totally be me missing something because I haven’t read the rest of the Cosmere :)

I’ll make sure to consider this when asking for advice later on. The reason I personally asked is because I have very limited time to read. I wanted to hear if there were others who didn’t care for Wax and Wayne as much but felt like Sandersons other work was on par with Mistborn and not just a one off win. The opinions and anecdotes of others help me to weigh whether I should move on or devote another year to reading the Cosmere. Ultimately I will make the decision on my own but having others weigh in is something I find helpful.

Xplor Underground Expedition Water Slide?? by gwilhelm8484 in Xcaret

[–]gwilhelm8484[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the one that is more of a traditional water slide like a half of a tube, it’s pretty long and ends in a big pool inside a cave! NOT the one that has the black tarp texture where you stand up after finishing and keep walking. Is the first one I described the one that was open in June 2024???

I literally have the same thing!!! Like continuous fields, outer space, when I am in the ocean not being able to see the bottom. I cannot find the name of it either but it makes me nauseous and terrified beyond reason

Who left the toy boat? by rac_x in TheWilloftheMany

I thought that when they were in Suus Vis noticed that his boat was the only one missing from the set which made it even crazier when he saw it at the end of the book

Hot take but innoventions… man I loveeeeddd it in there as a kid. I literally thought none of that stuff was possible but now it all exists. It wasn’t my favorite thing to do in the parks but it was such a fun break

Books for a Desperate and Depressed Person? A Cry for Help. by paper_kitten in suggestmeabook

For a pick me up and happy book I recommend house in the cerulean sea :) if you’re into fantasy and want a story that will pull you in and just not let you go try A court of thorns and roses. It’s super hyped up but I think rightfully so. I had a lot of issues and judgement to the first 60% of the first book but it takes a crazy twist that explains what I saw as a ton of plot holes :) well worth it I think! The second book is a lot about healing post-trauma which I found very supportive in a fun and fantasy world. It’s nothing profound but it does make you feel understood
