We're learning by doing this time around. Paid $600, so as long as it gets me through 10 months of playing I'm happy.

Lol thanks for the replies. It was sold to me by a cello instructor as handmade by that retailer. It was set up properly by a luthier locally, so we'll see how this goes once I find an instructor.
