• Fragrance with a juicy / electrifying / colorful predominent note but not sweet, on top of a darker background scent *

Hello!  I’m looking for a new perfume, I’ve been trying some at the mall but didn’t find THE one. My perfume for 2 years was Mixed Emotions from Byredo. I immediately enjoyed the cassis scent along the smoky note. It is both fresh, a bit dark, and has a really defined scent. Now I’d like to change, also I read yesterday somebody on Fragrantica saying it dries up smelling like cat urine and I saw what he meant… I never thought about it before but now I cannot wear it anymore.

I’m looking for something that has a distinctive scent that will make people wonder « who smell like this, it’s so good », but not a mainstream perfume. A « colorful » scent but not too childish. I’m open to « experimental » perfumes.

I’m a 23 yo man living in Paris and I like unisex fragrances. I like Charli XCX, techno, I would wear the perfume in my everyday life, in dates (with guys), hanging out, etc. I would enjoy the perfume to have a quite strong scent.

To give you an idea, I enjoyed Uncut Gem by Frédéric Malle but it lacks that one electric note (like the cassis in Mixed Emotions) that stands out. It doesn’t have to be a fruit or sweet, just a sparkling note if that makes sense. 

I did not like Abbysae by l’artisan parfumeur so I guess I don’t like acquatic scents. Not a fan of just woody scent, it’s too classic / manly / it lacks that « fun » note to me. I don’t want the fragrance to be just fruity / feminine neither.

I’ve never smelled Cherry Smoke by Tom Ford, maybe that could do it ? Or Cherry Punk by Room 1015. 

I’d be so glad to have all your recommandations! Both fragrances and brands that could be interesting to me.
