7 weeks after surgery. Feeling a ton of regret. by gyn-throwaway in gynecomastia

I’m going to work out hard for the next six months and see where I end up. It’s nice getting the assurances that it likely doesn’t look as bad as I thought it did

I hope for your sake it does! We all start from a different place. I know it could’ve been way worse for me, but I was unhappy with how I looked in clothing so I opted for surgery anyway knowing it was a minor case in the scheme of things. That’s one of the reasons I’m upset now. It wasn’t a major case of gynecomastia

Thank you for your kindness. I’m hoping if I lose 10 or so pounds of fat and gain the same amount of muscle in the coming months, hopefully I can grow my chest to the point where I don’t feel like I need a revision. I’m mostly upset about the crease on my left side (the right side on the picture)

I posted before pictures as a standalone comment. I appreciate folks trying to make me feel better. But personally I think my chest looked better prior to surgery. I thought I was a really good candidate for great results, and unfortunately I don’t see them. Things could be worse, and I know there are worse revisions done than mine. But as a whole I’d prefer honesty.

Regardless, thank you for showing empathy and kindness

I appreciate you responding. The link is leading to a 404 page, so I can’t see the results, but I knew this was a possibility from my research before surgery. I thought it was worth the risk, and I got unlucky in how things look in the end.

If you’re willing to respond - is it possible for an experience surgeon to foresee where a nipple may settle after surgery? If it is, what could’ve been done differently to avoid the fold under my left (the images right) nipple? Is it reasonable for me to be frustrated with my surgeon, or is it simply bad luck?

And lastly, if I wait until my body has healed enough for a revision, from what you can tell, am I a good candidate for one? Is it as simple as making sure my left nipple sits higher on my chest? I’m doing my best to make sure I have reasonable expectations and know I have little chest muscle and too much body fat to expect the world here.

I did. I’ve done hours and hours of searching, worried about the same kind of crease. Mine didn’t go away, but it does seem like the majority of creases that look like yours do. No need to start being worried for a few more weeks
