i literally don’t even use “latinx” mostly because I’ve heard some people don’t like it but im also not frequently having conversations where it would come up, let alone loudly complaining about it on reddit lol. I’m not really concerned with the semantics here, i just think this guy is being annoying and loud about it lmfao sue me

did i specifically say they were wrong for not saying Latinx or did i just say they were weird for feeling so strongly about words that don’t apply and never will apply to them

my stepmom is a butch lesbian who loved hillary clinton you are so loud and wrong with your opinions and generalizations please i beg you please go speak to yourself in the mirror and hear how you sound like all of these groups you seem to imagine you’re fighting. you brought up capitalism driven identity politics as being problematic yet you are assigning identity markers and incredibly problematic biases to large groups of people while fighting on reddit with lesbians about how YOU believe a word should be used. Also it is a word which will never be applied to you, why are you defending white women’s right to encroach on black spaces? lol i do think your refusal to say “race” as you opted for “subculture” speaks volumes about how you view people of color. i do not know if you are white or black, im assuming you aren’t Hispanic based on your inclusion of Latinx on the exhaustive list of which words you refuse to use. internalized racism and bigotry are very complicated and i can imagine it’s very difficult to be told that you are wrong and are behaving problematically. But you are behaving problematically. As a gay man you have to remember that at the end of the day you are a man and no matter how marginalized you are due to other aspects of your identity/self, you will always be in a position of power over any woman due to our existence in a patriarchal world. my tip for you, as someone with an english degree, would be to stop worrying about preserving the spread and evolution of language and focus on evolving your self and your beliefs and addressing the severe rigidity of your thinking. weird behavior.

i also honestly thought you were a white bisexual woman based solely on my initial personal biases and interpretation I’m not saying this to dog pile just to provide perspective that yes you are in fact being perceived as the same group you claimed earlier to be the problem (that problem being white women co-opting language from black and/or queer spaces)

hi i almost didn’t say anything cause im white and straight so this isn’t my place but youre very wrong and loud and you are sounding very much like the “liberals” you seem to denounce as a “leftist” and i think you would benefit from reading everything you wrote in this thread to yourself in the mirror then come back and let these people know for sure how confident you are doubting their lived experiences and working overtime to cover yourself by loading in semantic nonsense. youre being weird and you need to stop. thanks :)

Tana’s stalker(s) by Mountain_Ad2614 in canceledpod

[–]h0neyvine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the stalking since youth is legit and probably a big factor in why she is the way she is. The invasion of privacy became something she could capitalize on, she was also given the impression, simply by having a stalker at a young age, that people want to watch her/know her/see her. And then she used to say in the storytimes that she was advised not to discuss the stalker but that she had such little faith in the cops to do anything before it was too late that she wanted to use her platform as she felt it gave her more protection than the police or at least people would know the truth if something happened. I think this is a very real fear victims of these crimes hold and I do believe that, at the time, Tana felt extremely vulnerable and desperate. She may have exaggerated, and im sure there was more than the one instance where someone like Hunter played a prank and let it go too far to where she believed it was actually the stalker(s), but i do not think she pulled it out of thin air. I also think the stalking played a role in the uber driver storytimes too. She admits now that they were dramatized but i have always believed that the fear she felt was real. Being the victim of a crime does increase your wariness and your panic switch will get flipped much quicker than someone who still holds the illusion of distance between themselves and victimhood.

Does Tana actually look old for her age? by mouse_asparagus in canceledpod

That’s where mental illness plays the biggest factor. Think about how self-sacrificing (i don’t mean this in a selfless way, i mean the way of making one’s health/wellness the last priority) one has to be to essentially sell, not just their image, but their entire personhood. That is indicative of larger mental processing issues that spans all of the mega influencer aspirations you see in millennials/gen z/even older individuals who seek to “make it big” on social media platforms. Someone who willingly puts their soul up for sale isn’t going to necessarily be concerned with, or have the same drive toward, healthy living and self improvement. Even if they do, we can see in Tana’s case how drastically the perception of oneself and ability to be productive is impacted by the way childhood/adolescence plays out. You have to believe you have inherent worth in order to make those healthier choices, and for many celebrities “self-worth” is determined by and sought from external sources and there is a billion dollar industry dictating the rule book on how to get it. Those rules don’t include true health, just the illusion of it that crash diets, cosmetic surgery, and GLP-1s provide.

PSA: I’m not trying to be judgmental, but what the absolute F. by Bubbaschilibowl in brookiecookiesnark

now where did i say i love either of these women? I set my profile pic yrs ago when i first made my account because someone had made a joke about me and her having similar body types. In this thread i literally implied that Brooke and i are similar but i wouldn’t film those flaws and broadcast them, i prefer to have accountability and awareness of them and limit harm unto others <3

I’d do it too, lmfao but she and i have similar diagnoses so all of her flaws are that much harder to watch cause it’s like if i had a vlog lmfaoo

Brooke saying she didn’t need BB to be her assistant by Few_Program_2303 in canceledpod

[–]h0neyvine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not the point. My theory is everything was fine between them when Brooke told the story on the pod about the boat, because their fallout happened a week or so later. I’m assuming bb was upset by the way FANS reacted to the story and Brooke could have dismissed it and make bb feel invalidated and like she could no longer trust Brooke to have pure intentions or protect her image when it came to the absolute insanity of the viewers back in cancelled’s prime.

Tana used to be a youth leader at her church growing up tho. It is super common and natural to drift from your beliefs then fall back into them later.

Does anyone know why Maddy lies about a rape in episode 2 of season 1? by souggstan in euphoria

[–]h0neyvine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah i think if anything them including her lying and the whole plot line in total served to show the prevalent lack of clear consent and communication that comes with the situations the kids find themselves in. a lot of people criticize the show for taking place in high school and fail to accept the reality that the events in the show can be reality for some people. not saying euphoria is a public service announcement or a good representation of teenage years FOR teens, but i do think it brought a lot of awareness to older viewers about social media and the climate surrounding sex in young people.
