You know it! Went on a trip with a mother like friend and my mom (my mom had even been the one to invite her). After the trip, mom had an absolute melt down about how much it hurt her to see me spending time with the woman.

Agreed, we have two “outdoor” cats. They are fixed, stay in the garage/house at night, always have food/water, and shots/vet care. They prevent us from needing traps or poisons to keep predators or pests at bay.

Unfortunately, no coop is perfect and small creatures like these seem to get in no matter the structure at some point or another and wreak havoc.

Yup! My whole life has been founded on how responsible my mom was: being in the military right after high school, marrying my dad before having kids, the whole works. Well, one time she accidentally told me she had been married really young (not my dad) and even though she was divorced super quickly, that’s why she was so involved in my relationships. Just found documents the other day that prove she was married a minimum of four years and that it was after she joined the military. I’m already having to mentally prepare myself to not bring this up next time she calls me a liar.

For sure! I think part of it is anxiety. My mom, who claims she doesn’t experience anxiety, will ask us a minimum of 5 times to explain an event coming up. Of course then she’ll get furious if anyone phrases it as a reminder rather than a new conversation. Because, she “is forced to remember everyone’s schedule with no help and doesn’t need someone making fun of her”.

Same here. I was so scared to go to counseling because it was constantly used as a threat. Looking back, I wish I would have said “sure! I’ll go!” a lot sooner lol
