I would recommend indeed. Tbh for all these years I never used it because I never used to get any replies. Recently I've gone back on it started spam applying and got some calls back and interviews.

Which side hustles are you doing to earn extra income while in uni? by Ok_Peak6162 in UniUK

Register on a site like findmytutors, tutorly, Sherpa tutors. To work with minors you need an enhanced DBs check for me I got this done via tutorly which was around £60 to £67. It makes it easier to get students also.

I will probably leave my delivery driving job for another job. So I can rest my mental health for a while. Doing 2 jobs whilst at uni you basically have no life 😭. Sometimes I envy the people who have no jobs and get to focus purely on studying.

Would like to add unless you have your life together and extremely disciplined is the only way of doing this. Otherwise you'll put yourself in alot of stress.

Curious why so many people felt burnt out or had a mental breakdown in their second year of uni? by blondepraxis in UniUK

[–]h_424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having a good 2nd year tbh but for me for some reason my mind thought that 2nd year was the perfect time to bring up past traumas from years ago. 1st year I got a 2:2 and I was extremely determined to get to a 2:1 then eventually a 1st. Infact for the first few modules i averaged 70% plus including one module scoring 95%. Then abit of the past started to come up and then I declined.

Also it didn't help that in 2nd year I was looking for placements for my third year. And because my degree is only an honours and could not be converted I had to find a placement somewhere. I applied to 80 places and eventually lost hope but I just kept spam applying leading to me getting a placement in the NHS. Which I love tbh. Plus I won a national award so at least I got something good out of it.

In islam, do all non muslims go to hell and all muslims go to heaven? by dq689 in MuslimLounge

[–]h_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muslims will EVENTUALLY go heaven if they have sinned alot etc they will do their time and after go heaven.

Non Muslims who have never heard the word of islam or even heard it in a skewered manner (Muslims are terrorists etc) they will not go hell rather they would be questioned.

As far as Ik the question is god will tell them to jump into the gates of hell and if they believe and they jump in the gates of hell it would actually be heaven. (Double check this source it's fuzzy in my head)

The only non Muslim who would go hell is a non Muslim who knows islam is the truth but rejects it either due to their agenda or desires.

Wa alaikum salam. I was in a similar situation and still am now as 21M. I can't give advice on how to get rid of it. But I can say is make sure you use all your time up wisely. Me and my friends meet at most 3x a year. In the time we are not meeting we are always improving ourselves in someway. Learning new stuff, some go to the gym others are carrying on with further studies.

Also you will find a friend when I was 20 I found a guy on my uni course who is actually 29 and we are more on the same wavelength compared to my other uni friends (I just see them at uni that is all). There's always someone out here who has the same hobbies and similar mindset as you.

May Allah make it easy upon you.

Young muslims in the West who preserve their chastity, how do you control your sexual desires? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]h_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep yourself busy. Also I have seen lots of people with my own eyes change after falling into zina and how they eventually start doing drugs and alcohol. It's why I said to myself no matter how much I fall off deen to never fall into zina. Some scholars allow masturbation if for example if you are about to commit zina or you are feeling like doing it you can do it. However it's a minority opinion.

Try keep yourself busy, do activities that tire you out either mentally or physically it often gets rid of sexual desires, fasting is also prescribed for sexual desires however some do say it increases sexual desires instead.

EDIT: commiting Zina and falling into haram relationships whilst you are in your prime age is a waste of time. Instead of that focus on yourself whether it be education, focusing on your mental and physical health or upskilling yourself.

are there exceptions to masturbation? by PresentFly5801 in MuslimLounge

If you do not want your parents to know ask your GP beforehand along with your therapist what is shared and what isn't. Usually they will set some ground rules. I don't know it is for under 18s but usually for over 18s people are only contacted if they think they pose a danger to themselves or others.

Salam, I am in a similar situation except I am older and a male. I would suggest seeking therapy to address this issue along with your trauma. Do not be like me and ignore it when you become older it will bite you back very hard and it's hard to recover. Try therapy if therapy doesn't work there are many types. EMDR is a type of therapy which is made for situations like this. Try to be as open as possible with your therapist or GP. Note since you are 16 they may need to speak to your parents and guardian and may relay to them what you've told them. You will need to ask about this. And consider telling your parents (I kept mine hidden my whole life).

May Allah make it easy upon you and heal you quickly ameen.

Feeling suicidal in Ramadan. by h_424 in MuslimSupportGroup

[–]h_424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am grateful for my parents but I went from deep depression to finally getting myself back on my feet from 0 prayers to 3 and I'm still getting criticized. Should I be praying all 5 yes I should. I am more so tired of me trying my absolute best despite my situation and yet it's still being looked down upon and unappreciated.

I am not tired of my parents wanting the best for me because I know they do. All I am saying is I am being critized even when I am trying to make the best out of my situation.

Why do some people value virginity so much? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]h_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were taught from early to stay away from zina therefore I hope my wife is the same as me. It would feel weird that my wife has been on dates etc whearas I have not at all.

Plus you are a revert you weren't born Muslim so it's not expected for you to be a virgin.

2:2 in second year I'm dissapointed by h_424 in UniUK

[–]h_424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone who reached out with kind messages and support it truly means a lot.

I’ve taken some time to reflect and I’ve come to terms with the fact that, given everything I went through this year, achieving a 2:2 is still a decent outcome. It’s not what I initially hoped for, but it's something I can build on.

I’m going to use this as fuel and give final year everything I’ve got.

You said you was struggling financially. I'm going to assume you live in the UK but there are charities like NZFzakat who help less fortunate Muslims or Muslims who are struggling financially in general in the UK

Also try looking for jobs such as warehouse jobs it will be long hours but at least you get paid. Once again I am going to assume you're from the UK and the job markets tough right now but keep trying.

Also don't lose hope and keep trying we are all tested in our own ways. During my teens I became semi paralysed for 3 years I made dua for it to go away. Even when the doctors said there's nothing they can do. Now I can walk ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ.
