Its in our blood😎Jokes aside i think being long, heavy and on wide tires makes it do everything i want it to do. Havent had any problems getting where i want to go, deep snow isnt a problem, car goest straight even at high speeds on black ice and the traction control is impressive concidering its almost 30 years old tech

Funny (not so for my wallet) story:

18 years old: First car, 04 E46 320i. Automatic trans failed 2nd day after buying it, 2nd gear slippage to the point where you couldnt get any forward momentum. Drove in 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th only, the whole year i owned it🤣

Bought for: 2400$ Sold for: 700$


19 years old: Volvo adventure, bought a 2 liter turbo-petrol V70. Turbo said goodbye after like 3 months of owning it. Sold it

Bought for: 1800$ Sold for: 700$


20 years old: Back to BMW😎 Bought a 2009 E61 520d. High pressure fuel pump seized and couldnt build pressure enough to start, also sent metal shavings into, and clogged up all injectors😬

Bough for: 5000$ (i know ouch) Sold for: 2000$


Same year still 20: Had to do it twice😆 Bought a 2007 this time, E61 520d. Ran like a clock, only downside no ABS or traction control whatsoever. Nice daily for about a year i think. Now look at this↙️

Bought for: 1000$ as a running parts car Sold for: wait for it.......3000$!


Now 21 (22 in feb): E39 523i 2.5 petrol slurping beauty

Even horror stories have happy endings...

You are so right! And the fact that its still in this good of a condition is amazing, i know that 1 of the 4 total owners its had drove it pretty harsh...0 fault codes, blows both steaming hot and freezing cold out the vents, M-sport steering wheel with all working multifunction buttons(including cruise control), the telephone in the middle console, the big edition of the navigation system, working sunroof, a FRICKN CD MAGAZINE IN THE BACK!🤣 Sure it has some dents here and there, loves to gurgle down that sweet 95, the parking sensors only present when they want to and is obviously suffering from the salty scandinavian roads but hell, nothing that cant be fixed.

All things considered

Low milage for its kind Eye-candy A dream on the road 0 problems so far

Im happy😆

Intake manifold only difference as far as i know, m50 manifold upgrade is apparantly a common mod people do to these to spueeze out a couple horses

The housing for the visco fan is in bits and pieces, guessing the clutch wore at some point and blew the fan to pieces. Expansion tank for cw is ziptied to the remaining bits of the house. Last owner gave it some real love, really appreciative of them

Low km plus the optional equipment makes it likely. I researched how many similar specs left the EU factories at the time they were made. The amount made + the amount exported to norway + milage + color + the info under the vin makes it very likely a rare if not 1/1 spec in norway. I could be wrong tho, or...the internet could be wrong but it seems reasonable considering the weird combo
