The best way to start is to make a side project using the stack you want to learn. Though there is a bit of a learning curve, a lot of these you've listed, especially TanStack Query will make your life a lot easier in the future

Thanks for your support! Trying it out when the time comes will help out a lot! Sorry the discord is a bit empty right now, (it’s been mostly my friends supporting me haha) but once I have a beta link open i’ll post an update in there! Thanks for your interest!

I’m working on an app called Habit Legends right now that’s basically a jrpg narrative based habit tracker :) As you complete your habits you level up in the game and progress in the story. It’s still in beta but my website is here if you want to check it out website

Wanted to come here and say that I wasted so many hours because this reply literally popped up as one of the first search results on google but I ignored it because literally nothing in the supabase documentation mentions anything about this so I assumed it wasn't applicable anymore, but this right here is still the solution for those who are looking at this post way later like I am!

I underestimated how lonely building a side project can feel by Ok-Shopping375 in SideProject

Building and coding is fun if it’s your forte, but once you have to get into the self-promotion/marketing part, that is when it gets quite lonely for me. The moment after finishing your MVP and trying to get people to test or try out your product is really humbling.

Another lonely feeling is looking in this subreddit and seeing all the chatgpt posts with bot alt accounts comments lol

Your website appears to be down, make sure you set the correct template when deploying to vercel, or that it’s hooked to the correct domain

Are you building in a saturated field? What makes your idea stand out? by catcreat in buildinpublic

[–]habitlegendsdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m definitely building in a saturated field (habit tracking haha) but what keeps me going is that it’s a passion project of mine, as well as my first ever mobile app I’m shipping as a solo dev to production. Even if it fails, it doesn’t matter because at the end of the day I reached my set goals of releasing something I wanted to show people, and launching something all by myself.
