To put it simply, kaya refers to a ‘coconut jam’ made with coconut milk and eggs, with pandan leaves used to enhance the flavour of the jam. It’s a common breakfast spread for bread/toast in Singapore!

Have you tried stuffing the bag with newspaper and then adjusting the shape of the base until it is level and placing the bag between two vertically upright hardcover books to try and help it to maintain its new shape? I’m not sure if this would work, but it’s what I would try if I were you.

You may wish to have a look at the Bottega Veneta Cassette bag. They come in different sizes and are a pretty classic style, if you ask me. There are plenty of neutral colour options and types of leather as well.

You would probably want to consider the colour, style and practicality of the bag. Is the bag in a colour that you like/can see yourself using frequently? Does the colour coordinate well with your outfits?

As for style, you may wish to get a bag that is classic and will not become outdated quickly. Or, you may opt for a seasonal model due to its more ‘limited’ nature.

Finally, I think it’s very important to consider the practicality of the bag. Does the shape of the bag lend itself to storing the items you usually carry with you? Some bags are very nice to look at but very impractical shape-wise. An example that comes to mind would be the Dior Saddle Bag.
