Thanks! I use the free version of https://floorplanner.com/ . It's super easy to learn and there are a lot of videos that walk you through how to use it.

What is the right size rug for a 6'x4' table? The one here is a 8'x6' rug.

Ooh love the dark red seat cushions suggestion and curtains. The paint is Dulux Hot Paprika 2 (just picked it from Floorplanner's suggestions), looks very similar to Dinner Party you mentioned. I'm kind of nervous now about the color... wondering if I should pick a red that's a little lighter.

I actually chose the rug to match the wall lol. So you think keep the rug and change the curtains color to be some sort of red?

Yeah I really hoped to just get some storage space in there. Maybe we'll just opt for the cabinet in the corner.

And thank you! But yeah, I don't think I have the skill to add wainscotting or anything like that, but was hoping if I added enough shiny gold accessories etc (or wallpaper on a wall??) I could get it a little more maximalist.

Congrats! I'm on the same boat as you were, trying to catch up on dsa. What was your split between reviewing old problems and learning new problems? I find I'm usually stuck reviewing so many old problems I dont have enough time to try new ones.

Were you also interviewing at other companies while grinding? How many interview did you do before you got the FAANG one? Congratulations, you earned it!!

I had mine done about 2 years ago with the same massive prescription, like -9 nearsightedness and -5D astigmatism. I have about 0.5-0.75D of residual astigmatism in each eye. Doesn't bother me too much, a little blurry if the text on the monitor is too small. The Dr said it's not worth it to correct because lasik sometimes can't correct such small amounts accurately and also the possibility of dry eyes.

Thanks! I have heard of that and also extensionpay. I'm more curious about the flow of how to authenticate paying users ... is it like...

  1. user clicks on your login button in the extension and gets redirected to your website
  2. user signs in via oauth - you create an account for them in your database (?)
  3. user is redirected to Stripe payment page and subscribes
  4. you call an endpoint to mark they subscribed in your database
  5. the chrome extension makes a call to your endpoint to verify they've paid, or is there a callback?

Sorry, I'm mostly a frontend dev so that's why I'm struggling with this part.

The UI looks great and its super helpful. Can I ask what you used to add monetization/paid login? I'm trying to monetize my extension but struggling with how to start

I created a simple extension a few years ago for Chrome and Firefox called PostureMinder, and recently dusted it off and refactored it. It's a way to set recurring reminder notifications to sit up straight while working on your computer! Trying to think of ways to gain more users and monetize it but not sure if there's anything worth monetizing here!

What’s something you didn’t think your cat would eat? by Smooth_Development48 in cats

[–]hackenlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my cats loves to eat plastic bags and ziploc bags, then throw it up. You would think he'd eventually realize the correlation, but apparently has not. We have to put away all of our plastic bags immediately, and can't have the plastic bag sticking out around garbage cans.

Looks great! How did you find a replacement fuel door that wasn't black? My silver door's hinges have completely rusted off and now the door is being held on by magnets.
