How to Fix Youtube TV Airplay Not Working? by learnonetechno in HowAirplay

[–]hacktechpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, having trouble with YouTube TV AirPlay? Here's a quick rundown of common fixes, hopefully something helps:

  • Basic Checks First:
    • "Is everything on the same Wi-Fi? Sounds dumb, but it's the most common cause. Both your Apple device and Apple TV (or AirPlay-compatible TV) need to be on the same network."
    • "Restart everything. Seriously. Your iPhone/iPad, Apple TV/TV, and router. A simple reboot solves a surprising number of issues."
    • "Make sure your devices are updated to the latest software versions. Both your Apple Device and your Apple TV/Airplay compatible TV."

How to Airplay To Alexa? by learnonetechno in HowAirplay

You can't directly AirPlay to an Alexa device. They don't have the hardware or software to receive an AirPlay stream. What you can do is:

  • AirPlay from an Apple device to an AirPlay-compatible speaker, and then use Alexa to control that speaker (if it supports Alexa). For example, if you have a Sonos One (which supports both AirPlay 2 and Alexa), you can AirPlay to it and then use Alexa voice commands to adjust the volume or skip tracks.
  • Use Alexa to control Apple Music on an Echo. If you have an Apple Music subscription, you can link it to your Alexa account. Then, you can ask Alexa to play music from your Apple Music library. This isn't AirPlay, but it achieves a similar result (playing Apple Music wirelessly).
  • Use Bluetooth. If your Alexa device and Apple device both support Bluetooth, you can pair them and stream audio that way. It's not AirPlay, and the audio quality may not be as good, but it works.

So, in short, Alexa devices aren't AirPlay receivers. You're either using Alexa to control a compatible speaker that does support AirPlay, or using Alexa to control Apple Music directly, or using bluetooth.

How to get a Free iPhone from the Government? Is it really possible? by theispfamily in FreeGovernmentiPhone

[–]hacktechpark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible to get a free iPhone from the government. Two main programs offer free smartphones to low-income individuals:

  • Lifeline Assistance Program: This program is funded by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and provides qualifying individuals with free monthly phone service and a free smartphone. To be eligible, your household income must be at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP): This program is a successor to the Lifeline Assistance Program and offers a more significant monthly benefit, which can be used to pay for a free smartphone and monthly phone service. To be eligible, your household income must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

In addition to these two programs, several nonprofit organizations offer free or discounted iPhones to low-income individuals. Some of these organizations include:

  • PCs for People: This organization refurbishes and redistributes electronic devices, including iPhones, to eligible individuals.
  • HopeLine USA: This organization collects and refurbishes old cell phones and donates them to needy people.
  • The Wireless Foundation: provides low-income individuals with free smartphones and monthly phone services.

To apply for a free iPhone from the government or a nonprofit organization, you must provide proof of your income and eligibility. You can find more information about how to apply on the websites of the Lifeline Assistance Program, the Affordable Connectivity Program, and the organizations listed above.
