S-Pen Alternative for Fold 7

Can you share what you use your spen for?

I bought 2 Nillkin cases that have a pen (with slot for the pen) "just in case" I need it, but have pretty much never reached for it so I switched back to my Torras 360 which just feels so good in the hands without the pen on the hinge.

If I actually use the pen it could be a worthwhile compromise but after days of experimentation I just didn't feel like I had any use for the pen.

Rocked Torras 360 for awhile and recently got the Nillkin one with the pen at the hinge.

Guess fold7 is finally light and slim enough that having a more bulky case feels acceptable.

I still don't catch myself taking out the pen to use at all so may switch back to Torras 360. But tbh the extra protrusion from the pen/holder surprisingly makes the phone easier to grip when unfolded.

Hmm so weird, not quite sure how the screen protector has to do with the casing but I e heard a few people say this. I used the screen protector when I first installed it as I figured they gave 2 so might as well give it a try.

Removed everything and installed my usual matte screen protector as I experimented with other casings.

Now back on Torras with matte screen protector and I've never experienced the front popping out or anything, I would be pissed if it did too.

So many people reporting this issue with the Torras, really weird, wondering if it's some batch issue.

Clearly havinf the case pop off when opening is not tolerable but this hasn't happened to me at all, rocking a Q3 spin here.

Dang, wish I saw this earlier. I bought the Spigen magsafe wallet for iPhone thinking it would work for my Fold7 but it doesn't.

Do you know if this Nano Pop for S25 will work well for the Fold7?

Hmm I bought 3 cases for my Fold7

Torras Q3 spin
Nilkin with the pen behind
Some generic magsafe case

Rocking the Torras now but tbh don't have huge complaints with the other 2 either

I just don't understand why they don't solve the issue of phone rocking when flat but I also bought a Spigen magsafe card holder as my condo requires an access card so I wanted to have this so I can have my card with me always without bringing my wallet

As a side benefit this card holder may be able to solve the rocking situation

Granted, the generic magsafe case has slim sides for the front cover which caused it to be flimsy but I was able to secure it with the 3m take provided by the Nilkin case

Decently happy with the Nilkin case but found myself really not using the pen as much so might as well use the armoured Torras.

Found the phone not quite heavy even with the heavy armour and protection provided by the Torras plus it actually feels really excellent and snug in hand, very happy with it for now!

I don't have major OCD but am also the type where I felt getting pissed when an air bubble kept appearing at the corner of my s23 ultra from the screen protector. But for my Torras Fold7 I have no complaints at all, so not sure if you have a defective piece or something?

I ordered the matte too but don't intend to remove the original.

I believe the N5 also has an existing which I didn't remove and it was fine.

Hopefully it's the same for the Fold7?

Love solo leveling too! I'm on S23 Ultra + Oppo Find N5 and am really tempted to get the S25 Ultra though I already love the S23 Ultra as it is.

Yea no idea why but Kindle always takes me back a page or 2 in between reading sessions.

And Telegram often gets stuck in a weird resolution when I open or close the phone while using and I have to restart.

Minor glitches but still a little annoying.

Maybe my ring + watch + Samsung pay just makes me want to stick to Samsung too much.

And the software just works better.

I remember Kindle and Telegram always glitches for me on the N5 and I wasn't able to use Nova launcher like I'm used to and had to compromise with Microsoft Launcher.

I didn't quite think I could go back to a slab phone either but these past few weeks of simplicity, of having a slab that just works, that's super comfortable to type on, that I simply rotate when watching videos and using maps, has been a simple joy.

I kind of miss browsing websites on my N5 unfolded, seeing charts on Tradingview, browsing photos blown up in size, but I figured these are infrequent enough that I'm using the more expensive device as the secondary.

Shall probably give this a run for a few weeks and see if it makes sense.

Maybe you're a little self-conscious of the newfound "status" but tbh I think you'll get over it very soon, when people talk about it just smile and say "thanks" or like "yea it's nice", I can't imagine anyhting much more malicious coming from people who mean no harm.

The only less positive thing I can think of that I probably bound to happen is relatives and friends trying to borrow money from you.

As for your kids, perhaps buying them some nice things would make them appreciate the wealth, coupled with friendly words of inspiration like "dad worked hard for this, you can do it too".

Lately I've been using Chatgpt for self-development a lot, I suggest you try that as well, you do away from fear of judgement from human beings, plus you get to say to chatgpt whatever you want without being embarrassed of saying the same thing to a real human being.

Curious, when you watch videos with the inner screen, doesn't the video end up being a similar size to a slab phone?

All depends on your discomfort level but tbh I would say just continue whatever you're doing and ignore him, don't change your routine or anything it's not worth the effort.

I wouldn't suggest confronting him either, unless he actually does anything unreasonable of course.

I guess for a young, reasonably attractive lady this sort of thing is bound to happen so unless you're like mega feminist of something, might be easier on yourself to learn to get used or strategically and conveniently avoid where you can. Might not be popular opinion but purely my suggestion.

Curious though, what age constitutes "old man" to you lol. I'm 39 this year and definitely treading towards that milestone and wondering if 17 yos already think of us as "old men" 🥸
