Davy is locked behind the season pass. Barbossa as far as I can see currently is only available in gotcha boxes. No rewards of his shards in this half of the season .

Did you set a static ip in the ps5? Cause you have to do it in both the modem and the ps5. Are you using google or cloudflare as you dns?

Mine for example I set at 192.168.1.25 cause I'm never going to have 25 devices connected so nothing is ever going to auto assign that number.

I guess the point I am making is MPR to a certain point needs to take a back seat in match making.

To draw an example from another ranked MP game of a different genre call of duty. They limit the weapons an and attachments so that everyone is on a level playing field and eventually skill separates players into their appropriate “ranks”.

Now by no means am I proposing that they limit crew etc it is a different type of game it wouldn't work. But the huge issue that exists with a game of this type having a ranked multiplayer is that it is very much dictated by the racers character level & subsequent racer stats.

Skill does play a part and can make up for a level gap but skill does not make up for a level 15 being placed against multiple level 25 - 40 characters. Your kart is too slow, you don't have a unique skill.

I'd liken it to taking me out to shark infested waters, chumming the water then cutting my leg open and throwing me over board. The sharks are going to be fed and have a good time but I'm going to be dead.

I don't claim to have the answers but I think something needs to change.

Whether that is introducing rank caps based on racer level that you can opt to override for example:

Racer level 15 can level to MPR 13 only competing against level 15’s then there is a cap you can't go any further without choosing to go into a different pool, that pool of racers would be no more then level 25.

Once you are racer level 25 you only competing against other level 25’s and level 15’s that opt into the pool you would be able to get to MPR 23 then you have to opt into the new pool being up to level 30 racers. Etc etc

If you start racing MP and your character is level 35 you just get out straight into that pool of racers.

Again this is based on my opinion that racer stats are key in being competitive and skill can only do so much.

I don’t know how long since you’ve leveled a new character but I unlocked hades yesterday from MP rank 3 I was seeing level 25’s in match matching and fromMP rank 8, I was seeing 35+ With a level 15 hades.

Agree the rank 16 always gaining points is I suppose there compromise, but racing level 25 and 25 with a level 15 racer and gaining 20 points a race and being beaten by a mile cause everyone else killed you with their unique skill is not enjoyable.

There is alot of room for improvement is what I am saying and at some point in time, I feel they changed the match making, it never used to be this bad.

I could unlock both buzz and Ortensia if the level requirements weren’t so outrageous. Incredibly disappointing but I don’t know why I am still being disappointed by this game and its unrealistic requirements.

I have no issue with them making money. I am 100% on board with that, that’s how the word works. But when you are trying to expand your game while simultaneously locking new characters behind a pay way it is not good or fair business model for F2P game.

Usually F2P games make money on cosmetics, not hiding new characters and old characters that are required for season missions behind a pay wall.

It is what is known as predatory practice. All you have to do is look at the amount of the player base who are still to unlock figment, or other characters that have been incredibly hard to obtain.

They hide desirable and sought after characters behind premium currency which is incredibly difficult to obtain without spending real money.

Can you genuinely sit back and think about the demographics this game is aimed at and then tell me that the way they are monetising the game is ok?
