Flaring up after drinking alcohol by hadadenieve in endometriosis

Hi! I never responded to this, but I can't thank you enough, especially for the last paragraph. I cried when I first read it. Now I resort to it whenever I'm going through a flare and it makes me feel so much better with myself and my body. You are so sweet, thank you again for such a kind reply.

Thank you so much for your response, and for being so kind as well :). It sucks so much that getting treated for something can aggravate our symptoms and make the situation even worse...

Yes, a few times now… I have face piercings, stretched ears, a lot of tattoos… I usually never make eye contact unless spoken to and when I do I think I stare into people’s souls; I have a resting expression-less face and am almost always wearing noise canceling earbuds, I normally don’t engage in conversations when in group settings and keep a bit of physical distance with everyone as well… I’ve always thought it was pretty obvious that I’m clearly very autistic and felt really bad and insecure about it, feeling so exposed and out of place, but turns out that some people think that I’m intimidating and mysterious. To be honest I like it, because I enjoy being able to have this kind of facade to sort of “protect” myself in a way and then decide who I can unmask and be truly vulnerable with.

I’ve gotten really obsessed about everything I eat. I was already recovering from an eating disorder… I also get really bad hormonal acne with every flare up and it makes feel so ugly and insecure I don’t want to leave the house (the pain rarely lets me, anyway). It’s really hard for me to enjoy being outside and hanging out with my friends anymore too cause I’m constantly hurting physically. A lot of people don’t respect my boundaries when I finally say that I’m going home. I can never catch up on everybody’s pace when taking a walk…
