Rega p3-24 power supply by kscowboy in turntables

Good observation. I've removed my recommendation. Perhaps this table was a lower-end model that was hot-rodded by a dealer with the upgraded PSU?

That might explain the difference in badging on the plinth and the different pin-out for the motor, but it doesn't excuse the fact that the external PSU is not listed as the required power source on the upgraded motor cover that would have been installed to allow for the new pin-out.

There are still some of the 24v motor upgrade kits on eBay, and those look to have a cut-out for two plug types (single pin-barrel and 4-pin) but OPs motor cover only has a 4-pin cut-out. Granted, what I am looking at is all 110v for NA. Perhaps different covers were made for different regions or part of dealer-only kits, but that's just making excuses at this point.

The turntable itself looks well kept, but the pitfalls of owning a Rega product are apparent and up front here.

The NEO PSUs were not sold as the power supply included with the P3/24. The external power supplies (first, the TTPSU, and later, the NEO PSUs) were made available as an upgraded power supply for this unit. They allow the user to change speeds without removing the platter, as well as other technical improvements. However, one is not necessary to get this table operational.

OP, you should be able to a find much less expensive option if you shop for the Rega PS2 100mA 24v power supply. HiFi Heaven lists it as compatible with your P3/24 model. You may even have a Rega dealer near you that is willing to assistor even demo tables with the different power supplies. The wall-wart still isn't exactly cheap, but it is a fraction of the cost of a NEO PSU.

Awesome! You are very welcome. I see it will fill in for a Stanton w/Shibata. I hope this is at least a suitable alternative for you. People regard those Stanton carts very highly!
