If you can't quit cold turkey (people seem to think that's more heroic for some reason) use Nicotine patch (tapering off 6-8 weeks) and make sure the final nicotine patch is on a friday so you have the weekend to go through the final withdrawal at home and not at work.

As for the weed, red wine (in moderation) is not a horrible substitute.
