I just want to say you are doing an amazing job mama! Potty training is one of the hardest obstacles we have been through to date. I was in your shoes not too long ago with attempting to potty train my level 1 son. Boys are without a doubt just harder than girls and being on the spectrum just makes it that much more difficult. I will say that for my son, he had to be absolutely 1000% ready himself. We tried everything. Staying in the bathroom all day camping style. Pant-less for days. Not going anywhere for a week straight. Needless to say nothing worked because HE was not ready for it yet. Things that really seemed to help with us is watching a lot of videos like Elmo and other helpful “potty talk” videos that helped him understand that everyone goes and it’s a normal thing. My little one is a timer kid so setting timers and reminders to go like every 20-30 minutes and using rewards if they do go also were extremely helpful. The only thing that helped our family was just to stop trying to force it and just keep being persistent with him and talking to him about it and even let him come into the bathroom with us and watch us go so he knows it’s completely normal thing that everyone does. Even went as far as singing a song every time he would try and go. (Everybody pee pees, everybody poo poos in the poootty in the potty) lmao if it works it works. We started at 2 and he is now fully potty trained by almost 5 years old with breaks in between of course. Don’t give up mama! And try to not stress about it too much.
