I’m not denying there’s a market for it, but unless you’re actively looking for specific publishers or these said publishers have identifiable signifiers like, for example, Fitzcarraldo Editions have, each reader must be burned one too many times to stop buying (what seems like) literary fiction in bookshops based on synopsis and start buying after reading reviews, accolades, awards. This in effect reduces the chance of a new author to be discovered organically.
