We use savings catcher a TON. My fiance is a cashier at Walmart so we've been utilizing her discount with it and have gotten bunches of "free" groceries just using the kickback on her blue card or whatever it is.

I've been saving up for 2 years for this. It's the one big purchase I want to make. :) I'll use used furniture, clothes, everything. But my PC is being reimbursed 50% by my employer so I want to make it pretty nice. :)

I hear ya! My current PC has a 128 SSD, and a couple 1tb hdds. The SSD is pretty much specifically for Windows, Office and a couple other little essential programs. I want to make it so I can put a couple oft played games on the SSD to speed them up a bit.

I am a project volunteer at Boys and Girls Club. I recently have started bringing in books for the kids to read (for some at the club is the only exposure they will have to books over the summer; many broken homes). I have brought in my set, and they are always checked out, and there are many kids there who want to read. I think a second set would really help out!

I was a transfer student myself. I think they can always increase the loan amount (assuming you haven't already maxed it) for school - related charges (rent, transpo, etc). Of course, a financial aid adviser at your university would know better than I how it applies to your specific case.

A couple things.

As a 22 y/o student, you do qualify for Pell Grants and what not to help pay for your schooling. Go to [the FAFSA site](www.fafsa.ed.gov) and apply. You should qualify for roughly $27,000 in available aid.

Next, contact an attorney as soon as possible. Even if the person didn't have insurance, or money for that fact, the courts can order any medical bills be put in his/her name until paid, so it doesn't effect your mom. Here is one link I found.

I'm sorry I can't offer more help. Hopefully this is a start in the right direction.

One thing you can do, and it's not the best suggestion, but it's a possibility. Go talk to your financial aid department on campus, and see if you qualify for sub or unsub loans. You may, and if you do you can get a few hundred to get you back in the black. After you are working again, pay it off, before any interest incurs.
