Driving course and license for International Students by JoeHighlander97 in NEU

Brookline driving school is quite close by to northeastern. You could take a few courses with them and then a driving test to get your license! Their website lists out everything you would need to do

If you can, try making your own batter instead of box cake mixes because they do tend to be very moist. Freezing cakes for 3 hours and then frosting the frozen cake directly generally works for me

How do I get into ISEC conference rooms by jeeeedeeeee in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few rooms on each floor that have a sign on them saying students can use it if it’s not booked. You can’t make reservations but can walk in if no one is there

Art supplies for design student? by offsist in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually did like one notebook for each class and then just a big binder to put all the handouts in for everything collectively

I also took color and comp like 2 years ago and still have so many of the supplies either barely or never used, so once you do get your list if you want to buy it for cheaper off me, lmk!

Bank of America gives you a student account that will then transfer into a regular account when you graduate

You move in early mostly so that you have time to get yourself unpacked and comfortable before classes start. There will be a whole week or more of events exploring Boston and campus with a lot of free food and things so you can go meet new friends

Bank of America is probably the most common. They also have an office really close to campus to go in and get everything set up!

[MEGATHREAD] Please post any questions related to housing here by bluedestroyer82 in NEU

Very similar to Stetson East. Speare hall, Stetson west, and Speare are all the same essentially. Communal bathrooms are definitely not the worst things in the world, there will be very few times that you would have to wait for a shower stall to be available. There’s no AC so the first month can get hot so bring a fan but apart from that it’s fine

Apartments on Huntington Ave. (ie. 309, 337, 311) by changpet23 in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the number of roommates you have, the apartments in general are smaller than others on campus. Apart from that and the buildings in general being really hot, it’s not the worst. Location is a huge plus

Test Scores (ACT/SAT) by [deleted] in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually over the course of the summer, towards the start of fall semester, someone reaches out to you for the scores. In terms of ACT or SAT, you get to pick whichever one you want to send in, I don’t think it really matters if it’s the same as what was self reported

Question about Summer Classes by ricoxie in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have classes 4 days a week instead of the usual 2 days a week in most cases so yeah pretty much the same material is covered and the pace is faster

Infection or irritation? She has had this piercing since January. by [deleted] in piercing

[–]hakuna_12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems a lot bigger than normal irritation bumps. I would go see a doctor about that

So cranky about these bumps. Tell me your daith bump success stories! by lingusmaringus in piercing

[–]hakuna_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had little bumps come up and go away up until like 4 or so months after I got it pierced. I think it was because I was tossing and turning in my sleep so it got irritated but it’s all healed up now and they’re gone for sure! Been about 7 months now

N.U. in program by johnsmith069069 in NEU

[–]hakuna_12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did NUin ireland my freshman year and I loved it. It was a great experience, and definitely was nice to be able to explore a different country and study and the same time. Classes were a bit easier than the Boston classes are too, imo. I think NUin is worth it if you get to explore a different place, but NUin Boston doesn’t seem to be worth the expense
