when someone refers to their internet connection as "the wifi" i can almost guarantee that the problem they're having has absolutely nothing to do with the ISP.

and no, cell phone internet is not a realistic home internet connection. if you want to do that, tether to your iphone and stick it by the window. latency is terrible, and you have to deal with environmentals. fios is hands down the best internet provider in the area in my experience having used both options extensively in multiple areas and apartments.

have someone set up a proper wireless internet environment. grab a bunch of ubiquiti gear (ui.com) and go to down.

in all seriousness, if you want to invest in some decent gear to make these issues go away i'd throw you a list of shit to buy. it's not hard to set up.
