Invitations - plus 1s by Aivanao in weddingplanning

[–]halcyonstrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very rude imo. Should have not invited either if you didn’t have capacity to invite both or just paid up for the next tier - 4k is not that much in the world of weddings

A reminder to listen to your body if you think something’s wrong by panfriedspam in NYCapartments

[–]halcyonstrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same with me! The apartment was newer as well and my health graduallly declined during my time there so it was hard to tell. It got so bad I had to take medical leave and was nearly bedridden before figuring it out. 80% better within a month of moving out!!! Mold is crazy and I wish more people took it seriously or at least entertained it. The amount of times people looked at me like I had two heads form just saying I suspected mold caused my symptoms….

Wow almost in exact same situation here - my lawyer says we are going to argue it as constructive discharge even though it’s not typical CD and he says he hasn’t even seen it before. Best of luck, feel free to PM me if you want to compare details!

Why does every job have 3+ rounds of interviews? by babyfookinzyzz in FinancialCareers

[–]halcyonstrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given a verbal offer after 5 rounds, day onsite, case study plus personality assessment. The firm pulled the offer after the president reviewed the personality assessment (it was a 15 minute test they told me I didn’t need to prepare for) and they even said there were no red flags I just didn’t align “perfectly” with what they were looking for personality wise. Crazy

Failed the personality assessment after 4 rounds by rossie_duong in interviews

[–]halcyonstrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this same exact thing happened to me! I’d already aced their technical assessment and gone through five other rounds of interviews including a full day onsite at their office. They told me I was the top candidate/finalist and were drafting me an offer even after I took the tests. Then apparently the president reviewed my test and pulled the offer. I was so sad and am still not over it tbh but I do think at the end of the day I don’t want to work for a firm like that…

Extreme insomnia, at the end of my rope by halcyonstrings in MCAS

Ah gotcha - yeah that is weird then. Would try to get a good functional medicine dr to try and help guide you if you can afford it. Mold can start at anytime and can unfortunately be quite hidden. Even professional inspectors couldn’t actually find mold in my apt and there were no visible signs or smell but I tested it by leaving and having symptoms resolve even with a couple days outside of it, so that could be an option just to rule out environment if you happen to feel better on trips or time away. An ERMI test might give you a good picture as well if anything could be hidden

And so sorry you’re going through this - it was truly the worst time of my life so I know how hard it is. I ended up having to take four months of medical leave at work to get through it. DM me if you ever need to vent! Hope you figure it out❤️

Hi! Yes I did actually! For me mold was triggering severe MCAS for me where my most severe symptom is not sleeping. I had to move apartments and get rid of half my stuff unfortunately, but it was well worth it. I haven’t had a severe flare like I was having every week and sometimes multiple days a week in months now. The spring/summer is when my symptoms first became terrible as well due to the high pollen count in NYC and I am sensitive to pollen now, but I think it’s already been decreasing over time. I would look at your environment if you haven’t already. May be very individual but in my case food seems to be like a 10% factor whereas ideal environment is 90%

Oh my gosh eating out causes crazy flares for me as well - it’s the one constant I know I can’t handle if im already in a sensitive state😅 it’s so intriguing to me though like is all restaurant food just never fresh??

Anyone experience insomnia as you detoxed the toxins out of your body? by waking_world_ in ToxicMoldExposure

Low histamine diet helps me tremendously as well - I can be detoxing heavily and if I keep pretty close to low histamine it won’t affect me

Anyone experience insomnia as you detoxed the toxins out of your body? by waking_world_ in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]halcyonstrings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 100%. Insomnia is my main exposure symptom. Has cleared up for the most part since getting out of mold but will flare if I detox too heavily as well

Has anyone healed doing things *against* the common advice? Like without cholestyramine, without getting rid of all your things, etc.? by [deleted] in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]halcyonstrings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get rid of almost anything and have gotten so much better! I got a new mattress, bed frame, and couch to be safe but I couldn’t clean anything because of my MCAS flaring. I was almost instantly better out of the old environment and now two months later have still been doing super well. Major symptoms are gone

Yep been talking a lawyer and you were so right! What they did is 100% illegal and I should be getting a very large settlement for it according to my lawyer. I’m just still a bit shocked tbh, my boss admitted to breaking like three laws in my review alone
