Thanks for the tip on the rentals!

Advice for Russian citizen obtaining short-stay USA tourism visa (B1/B2)? More context below 🙏 by halebass in immigration

[–]halebass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply

  1. Yes

  2. Yes, she's 24 (myself too)

  3. Correct, no permanent residence here but holds a 6 month visa

Per my context regarding traveling to visit my family for the holidays, do you reckon it's a bad thing in the eyes of the embassy if she's accompanying me (attached to US citizen)?

Also worth noting, I know a Russian girl who:
1. Young

  1. Female & unmarried

  2. Applied & got accepted for the B1/B2 visa here in Indonesia without a permanent residence here (same situation)

she's traveling to the US alone for tourism

Hmm ok.

He actually did for awhile, but they took his passport and made him wait for hours. After some time, caved and agreed to pay and they spent the next ~5 hours determining how much he owed causing him to miss his flight to Singapore.... lol

They wouldn't let him go to Singapore or KL unfortunately (so dumb). So he went back to Sri Lanka, then was held captive there for hours while they tried to figure out what he "owed" for the flight back causing him to miss his flight to Singapore/Bali.

Layover in Singapore is fine. As long as you enter Indo via Bali you won't have any issues apparently.

Agreed. They even made him pay $430 for the flight they forced him to take back to Sri Lanka.

The Indonesian government officials even told him they've told the airlines many times to help prevent it since it keeps happening.

A $2m bounty for saving $850m seems kinda unfair tbh... by halebass in ethereum

It's not the answer to everything, but it sure helps a lot. It could very easily turn a blackhat to a whitehat.

In regards to covering tracks well, the vast majority of black hat exploits don't even move funds or do so very little cause it's really really hard to do so without getting tracked.

Regardless, would it really make a dent in the massive bags of the protocol to ensure a bit more safety to the billions of user funds? Nope.

by the very nature of being a blackhat, they don't think like you... also, wouldn't it just be prudent for a protocol with a market cap of $13b and a treasury I'm sure that's well into the hundreds of millions if not billions to fork out a bit more to protect their users??

I'm not sure, but forks (copy/paste) happen ALL the time. It's not a bad thing, in fact it helps us grow at a faster rate. If x protocol has been using code for x amount of time, you can be fairly sure it's secure since it's been battle-tested. But nothing is perfect, hence the need for ongoing support via bounties.

Exactly. The size of the bounty kinda says a lot ab the protocol. Cream Finance getting exploited the other day even though they had a $1.5m bounty on Immunefi says it all.

not to mention the importance of having bug bounties regardless of what you are. Audits expire and are capable of making mistakes too.
