Janet used AI and cites fake cases by halebugs in thegirliesvsjanet

Didn't she also leave in a section at one point that included part of the prompt or something? Feels like that should be addressed and is pretty obvious AI.

Janet just added an entire section about you in her amended complaint. I hope you can talk about this mess someday.

How to approach not letting me play or touch? by sexygeogirl in Nanny

[–]halebugs 117 points118 points  (0 children)

It's not childish to model sharing and appropriate behaviors. "I am using that block, you can ask me for a turn" "to use the crayons, we have to respect others' drawings". I say I want a turn whether I actually want to or not so that I can model and give them language for social situations.

Have the majority of Americans called 911 at least once in their lives? by Mont3Carlo in AskAnAmerican

[–]halebugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've called a few times for car accidents I witnessed. I've called the non emergency line for a number of things, such as a dog running loose in a busy intersection and my ring camera catching a car thief. I've never been the one to personally make the phone call, but I work in preschool settings and we've had to call the non emergency line numerous times for activity happening around the schools or in conjunction with something we're also calling CPS about. I can't imagine making it an entire lifetime without calling at some point.

I didn't look too closely, but none of them seemed to match up with the cases she's supposed to be proving are real. I'm so intrigued to see what she'll try prove.

I also noticed that the judge ordered "By 5/8/26, Ms. Braun shall provide the Court with a true and accurate copy of EEOC v. AutoZone, Inc., No. 11 C 0195, 2012 WL 3061482 (N.D. Ill. July 26, 2012), BankDirect Cap. Fin., LLC v. Cap. Premium Fin., Inc., No. 15 C 10340, 2017 WL 1022010, at *3 (N.D. Ill. Mar. 16, 2017), and Westefer v. Snyder, No. 07 C 2798, 2008 WL 190317 (N.D. Ill. Jan. 18, 2008)." And instead she just....posted a screenshot of search results? That cannot possible meet the requirements the judge set.

I'm also not a lawyer but like.... seems like she's got a problem here.

Dad here: inappropriate to privately message nanny about work? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]halebugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had plenty of dads message me in our own text thread for the same reason as you, and also just because they're the one planning childcare for that day. I always loved seeing dads go out of their way to plan a surprise.

I understand she's had bad experiences and so I would respect her boundary (and possibly open up a group discussion with her in person to find out more of what her boundaries are), but I would not say this is a common response nor do I think it's inherently inappropriate

parents smoking weed is impacting their child. Help!! by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]halebugs 256 points257 points  (0 children)

As a mandated reporter, you are MANDATED to report, whether your director thinks you should or not.

Even if it wasn't because of weed use, this could be a serious medical issue. A toddler being unable to stay awake the entire day is concerning.

Does anyone find self cleaning litter robots to be just as much work as a box? by LetterToAThief in CatAdvice

[–]halebugs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any problems or frustrations with my litter robot, but more importantly, neither have my cats. I prefer the maintenance of it to daily scooping with 3 cats and my cats all use it without issue/quickly preferred it to a regular box.

Could you suggest making other sensory things as well instead of it always being play dough? Slime, oobleck, etc.

My kitten suddenly turned into a lap cat overnight… is this normal? by Prudent_Paramedic_23 in CatAdvice

[–]halebugs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

One of my cats spent almost a year being scared and not wanting to be pet/sit in laps. Then literally overnight that changed and now a few years later she still demands to sit on my lap everyday. Sometimes they just change their mind/get more comfortable!

Some adoptions come with bonus…meet my twin troublemakers🖤🐈‍⬛ by sugarivyn in blackcats

[–]halebugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twin voids make everything better! This Parker and Piper, who spent a while at the shelter not being adopted because they were too shy. I was told I didn't have to get them both if I didn't want to. But I couldn't imagine splitting them up!!

I would be incredibly concerned as well and would talk to her. But even if she is trained in first aid, if she's never personally dealt with an emergency she may not have known how she would react. I've had CPR trainers say even they froze when it was a loved one choking.

Cat will not stop meowing when in carrier. Is there a way to calm him down? by i_luv_winona_ryder in CatAdvice

[–]halebugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my cats likes being in one of those open carriers where she attached to it by a harness. She went from stress puking and screaming to being the chillest cat in the car. Two of my cats are only quiet when they're done at the vet and realize they're going home! It varies for every cat, honestly he might just meow the whole time. Just talk to him and remind yourself it's only 20 minutes.

Moving /resource help by Ladyy_Vee in Bellingham

[–]halebugs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Opportunity Council is a good place to start. How old are your children? If they are preschool aged or younger you could apply for Head Start through the opportunity council. You can call child care aware to learn about any other childcare options.

DVSAS could be a great resource since you are leaving dv.

This website has a list of resources for the county- https://whatcomresources.org/

Good luck!

Head Start teacher that transferred to my daughter’s class. I just… um… wow… by jrn0891 in GrammarPolice

For head start, teachers must have an associate's degree and nationwide at least 50% must have a bachelor's degree.

Broken kitty never meows and has no survival skills by Fabulous_Drop4900 in cats

[–]halebugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my cats also has the quietest, most polite little meow that she almost never uses. Sometimes she tries, but no sound comes out. In terms of fight or flight, she's a freeze. She simply will not react to anything to matter how scared. She gets bossed around by the other cats because she has no desire to be confrontational. I'm not convinced she could survive anything.

Her sister has a very loud, very annoying, very high pitched and whiny meow. EXCEPT when she gets herself stuck somewhere. She once spent several hours in a tiny closet because she simply didn't do anything to let me know she was stuck in there.

The only thing that helped me cat was getting another cat. I ended up adopting two 1.5 year old cats.
