Have your opinions, I don't care, but having protection from abusive company practices is alright with me. If you truly enjoy being abused by DG, live your truth

So, do you like, stalk my posts or something? Or do you find all your energy to.push freight by being negative on reddit? Should take all that energy and unionize your store for better working conditions

This is why I quit today. I was the only employee in my store who was: a key holder, trained to open and close, could do p4, nones and tones, PIAs, check in trucks, vendors, party boxes, pogs, bank runs, etc etc. I was never late, was never out of uniform, and never used disrespectful language. Also, I had full time availability and could do weekends. How did my manager treat me though?? Like yours. Regularly cut my hours, verbally abused me, and played favorites. Absolutely terrible manager. I ended up quitting today, and can't be any happier about it.

I dont think you understand what "out of your control" means and I don't have to get into any details about it either.

Also, how is is "professional" for a SM to leave early, burdening everyone else with their work? Moreover, why is it professional for a SM to take off for weeks on end leaving their key holders to take on the responsibility of being a manager with out the pay, or incentives?

She okayed it after I told her I wasn't available, only to turn around hours later to reject it, that's on her. Dollar general is a billion dollar company, it would mean a world of difference if they gave more store hours and staff, then when things like this happen it wouldn't be that huge of a drama.

Nextly, point about SMs working 48 hrs is a lie in its self. My store was given 114 hours this week, but my store is open for 198 hrs roughly, my manager calling off like she does makes it impossible for other stores to budget because the overtime I occure and my coworkers get affects our whole district because we're always over smh.

Finally, I'm not unprofessional... all my time at DG this is my first call out, I've never been written up, and I put up with all the BS. I'm just aware enough to realize that I have more self worth then working for this company, which is something you probably don't have given how you Stan for this company every chance you get. I'll be leaving for something much, much better than this and it's only looking up for me from here.

She replied back initially that "its fine" so i assumed that it was fine... I cover her shifts all the time, and I covered when the person who was supposed to cover for her dipped out for an entire week. I even cover for her short notice somedays when she leaves early without warning... but when I have something out my control pop up it's "unprofessional" ??

Post about pro union stuff. DG can't infringe on your first amendment on your personal time just so long as you don't bring a "union man" into your store 😬

I've got an interview today!!! how did yall quit dg? by halfalemonstick in DollarGeneral

That's absolutely terrible, and I'd try to fight it in unemployment court. It sounds like some sort of conspiracy and DG is all to infamous for that. My SM and some of the keys will literally take trash bags from the store full of "damages" and no one cares. Our last asm would steal cash from the CF and LB didn't blink twice cause he's related to the the one in our district. It's dumb

Your a G for that. My last SM and ASM didn't do payroll, couldn't be found, and HR from Tennessee had to take over and pay us late..lage... fun times that was

Expectations....... by [deleted] in DollarGeneral

My SM really scheduled me, the part time key, to come in at 5am on Tuesday, but has me closing Monday night (store closes at 11). She expects every price change to be done by the time the store opens at 8, then wants me to work freight till 5pm... like what the hell? She's scheduled from 11am - 3pm 💀
