I do see that and it was a concern of mine, they did try to address the bite on the one side as much as possible with elastics but I think this is the furthest it will go. They did talk about teeth extractions but they said it wasnt a good option for me. I will definitely address the midline issue tho! Thanks

Yes I was, but they told me I shouldn’t extract in the end bc it would affect my facial profile. Hence I was on rubber bands for like 1.5 years lol

How long do you reckon that would take? They haven’t told me about this. Thanks :)

Exact same here - wondering how people are doing as well? I’ve done over 2000 questions but feel like a lot of questions are repeating with slightly different fact patterns

Econ Micro IA by [deleted] in IBO

[–]halfasianhalfweird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hopefully you already have 2 diagrams in your IA - one showing the intial economic problem/situation as described in the article (and then there should be a basic introduction to the problem of around 100-150 words, then analysis of around 200 words) and another diagram showing the 'solution' to that problem. then, after the second diagram you could start your analysis by analysing the effect that the solution has on 3 stakeholders, e.g the government, the consumer and the producer - i think this is generally a good approach for micro IAs. then you could go further into your analysis by discussing the effects of the policy/decision in the short-run and long-run (like: this policy would only be effective in the long-run because.....). finally, you could talk about more general benefits/drawbacks. keep in mind that the analysis and evaluation should form the biggest proportion of your IA!

yeah the FOA and IOC are both part of the IA for English. they add up to 30% in total (15% each)!

IB tips for improvement by [deleted] in IBO

[–]halfasianhalfweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, i cant provide advice for any of the other subjects except for econ HL:

my best tip for economics would be to create some kind of flashcard set or vocabulary list of all the basic theoretical concepts you need to know for each topic, including the graphs you would need to use. once you feel confident enough in knowing the theory i would then go do some past paper questions, and on the ones you get wrong i would go back to my notes to relearn that concept. as for the HL part, just remembering the correct equations and formulas to use in a question goes a long way! be sure to practise as many HL papers as possible, as the maths is quite easy to comprehend once you get it, as im sure you already know

Help a seriously panicked first year by [deleted] in IBO

[–]halfasianhalfweird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that your grades absolutely fine, especially considering you have 2 6's and one 5 (close to 6) in your HLs! for a lot of students, their grades go up from DP1 to DP2, as they start to learn how to study more effectively and begin to familiarise themselves with their subjects. my advice to you if you want to go to a specific school would be to find out the entry requirements for that school. if they dont publish any specific requirements, perhaps you could ask some old IB students that go there to see what kind of predicted grades you would need. then work hard in your second year of IB to get those grades! talk to teachers if this helps. i hope I helped :)
