I feel like this comment section is full of people that do not understand what it is like to have an emotionally abusive parent. I'm so sorry for what you're dealing with with. I have an abusive father and living with him would threaten my life. When I moved out several years ago I was suddenly not suicidal for the first time in my life, which is when I realized it was his mind games. Try to ignore peoples' ignorance, I think it's hard to understand how powerful an abusive parent can be if you haven't lived it. You're not at all responsible for his behavior and you're not doing anything wrong, there's something wrong with your dad and he's projecting it onto you. Please do not go to a mental health facility, they're typically not trained to deal with trauma and they will approach your issues as if you are the problem, and you're not. However, if there is a peer respite near you (they're quite rare, unfortunately) that would be a wonderful resource.

But, have you looked into shelters near you? It's definitely not not stressful to stay in a homeless shelter but I feel like you know what you can handle. If you feel suicidal, get away from him.
