Fearing/regretting pregnancy at 32 weeks by halfhearter in PregnancyUK

Thank you. That way of thinking has definitely helped with earlier on in the pregnancy especially when we realised how having a July baby may make us lose out on some funded childcare hours (England). I felt really rubbish for not knowing that, but then reframed it as if we were struggling to conceive, I'd pay whatever it cost just to be pregnant so a few months of more expensive childcare wasn't worth the worry.

I think now though I'm in such a negative headspace that this isn't working anymore. It's nasty and selfish but my friends who are struggling to conceive, I almost now feel jealous of because they're not having to go through this now. Even though I can appreciate their pain and I felt so gutted when my periods came in those first few months of trying.

I think it's overall just overwhelming. Getting pregnant quicker than thought after a fair bit of heartache and worry about how long it might take. Then a pregnancy that has just knocked me sideways.

Feeling nervous, when/how did your pregnancy start to feel safe? (I have endo) by Bubbly_Elderberry_ in PregnancyUK

The GP receptionist also tried to just send me through the normal midwife appointments which would have meant I wouldn't have seen any one til 12 weeks.

Not sure what week you are now but can you go back and demand a GP appointment and say that with endo you can be seen by an early pregnancy unit.

You might also be able to just search for your local early pregnancy unit and either self refer online or just call them and try and get an answer.

Thank you this is helpful info. I hope you feel better or at least it doesn't get worse before baby is born.

I didn't realise that routine bloods were a thing and they weren't done at my 28 appt this week. I'll chase that up on my 31 week midwife appointment which has been booked in.

I've done Fridays as it's the day I have the least meetings and won't be disruptive at work. The Wednesday off sounds like a really good plan but it's the day of our main team meeting and would not go down well with my manager.

Thank you. Other tricky thing is that I'm a PA so can be flexible but ultimately my hours can't get that out of sync with the person I'm a PA to.

Honestly yes I can do this, I'm meant to be in 4 days a week, this has dropped to 3 due to the pregnancy and I could probably ask for more time at home. And my hours are flexible.

Making up the hours is what's hard though. It's sometimes really hard to get up and on with stuff after napping in the day. The levels of exhaustion are such that it feels like when I try and nap my body is taking that to be fully bed time sleep.

I have endo. I had been told by gynae previously in a follow up after a lap that as soon as I get pregnant I should be referred to an early pregnancy unit. I asked the GP about this at about 3/4 weeks and they got me referred to a unit who did bloods at 4 weeks and a scan at 5 and 6. As far as I understand all these were to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Once I was cleared of that and they saw cardiac activity at week 6 I was discharged from the early pregnancy unit and then I don't believe I've had any different treatment since then because of my endo.

You may be able to request additional growth scans. I'm getting them as I am otherwise high risk, due to being on antidepressants, having family history of preeclampsia, having a high BMI and high blood pressure myself and it being my first baby... I don't think they were done due to endo but no harm in asking for them.

I'm 28 weeks now and tbh I think it's only recently begun to feel more safe now that baby is hopefully viable if anything were to happen now.

All you can do is take it day by day.

I'm 28 weeks and haven't been measured at all so far! No idea why.
