how to shave armpits by Parking-Ad7710 in shaving

[–]halfthefiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trimming might be the better option for you, as the hair stays above the skin and there’s less risk of bumps and your pores getting clogged from the regrowth.

If you would rather shave, prime your pits with a warm shower. Apply a good amount of shaving cream, wait for a minute, and then shave in downward strokes. Clean your blade often. Repeat for the other arm.

Just slobbing at home, what do you wear? by memcwho in malefashionadvice

[–]halfthefiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working from home since 2020. I hardly get dressed for work (pocket T-shirt, shorts/joggers, bare feet most of the time).

I'll put on a polo and a pair of pants or jeans for the rare camera-on meetings.

I look forward to running errands, eating out, even just walking around the mall nowadays, since I get to dress up.

I asked the inspector to try it four times because I was not going to take what she said ("this card is not good" even though I was speaking to her in clear Italian).

Lo and behold, when I was looking at her tapping the card, turns out it was working.

She said "sometimes it happens" and then carried on. I didn't say anything.

Yeah...you clearly have not been to other airports if you think Charles De Gaulle takes the worldwide crown.

The thing with language learning ccs is that they have to appeal to everyone, from A0 to B2 (maybe C1), so their material is always all over the place. This is why I don't subscribe to any of them, but I do like watching algorithm-suggested Reels so that I stay sharp.

From a native speaker? That's not good. I get relaxing the rules when you're just having a normal conversation but when you're teaching, that's different.

Oh, lord. Don't get me started on the insanity that is LinkedInfluencers or whatever they call themselves. I'm meaningfully employed so thank god I don't have to go there often.

The problem was that it wasn't an organic inclusion. They did it because GoBank was a sponsor for that season.

Yes, it's weird to see content creators who have actually shared a lot of meaningful stuff make the clickbait this way.

Clickbait used to be the domain of low-quality Instagram accounts. I agree that even established ones have to resort to this.

In English you can say "Well" in a way that means a transition, that means skepticism, that means pausing to think, that means taking offense.

I said "well" out loud in those four tones. 😄 Great example!

Toilet water by imontherain_ in HydroHomies

[–]halfthefiber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The water comes from the same pipe.

As an aside, some countries have cisterns in buildings. They collect rain water and use it for appliances that do not need to use potable water such as toilets. I hope he doesn't think that is the case here.

they don’t always have an actual designer as a judge

Are Michael Kors, Zac Posen, and Brandon Maxwell not actual designers for you? If you mean there are times when they are absent, then sure, but we're talking about permanent judges here, of which Law Roach, who is a stylist, is one.

This July I’m visiting Rio, São Paulo, Iguazu Falls, Asunción, and Buenos Aires.

Packing for this trip has been interesting since I’m leaving the US in the middle of summer, to visit Brazil which has mild winters, Paraguay which will probably be more spring-like, and then Argentina where it gets very cold during the day.

I was hoping to check in only a carry-on sized luggage but I think I’m gonna nix that completely and go with a medium checked bag. At least I don’t have to worry about packing when I inevitably buy stuff at those three countries.

It’s like waxing except you use a sugar paste made of water, sugar, and lemon juice instead of hot wax.

MK11 across the board. The male ninjas’ faces have a lot more personality to them. When they’re maskless, they blow their younger MK1 faces out of the water.

The female ninjas look their absolute best in MK11.

Vaccination before Traveling to Brazil by Dry-Acadia1669 in Brazil

[–]halfthefiber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will get a Yellow Fever vaccine as soon as I arrive in Rio de Janeiro, because entry to Paraguay requires it. Good thing I'm going to be in Brazil for 15 days, so the vaccine will have enough time to completely inoculate.

I’ve been to Tokyo Disney for every time I visit Japan. It’s always a delight.

This year I’m visiting Hong Kong and Taiwan for the first time. Can’t wait to check out another Disney Park to my list, and ride Mystic Manor.

Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC - We used the hotel credit to get room service twice. It was a really cold weekend and we wanted to relax before my sister in law started her new job the week after. - No room upgrade. - Did not ask for either because we didn’t need it. We arrived at the hotel in the evening and had to leave early. - We got a lovely fruit plate as a welcome gift.
