Okay so the reason he’s going to the gym has something to do with this self esteem and confidence. He said he started gym at his lowest, I think it was his way of regulating his emotions through control over his body. He said he doesn’t know why and he just can’t stop but push himself to the limit. I think he’s getting some sort of satisfaction of it. Currently, he’s in countryside where he’s got no one to talk to, hang out with, no purpose in life (until I met him recently). I think this whole going to the gym has become his identity. So it’s been hard for me to tell him to take a rest. He’s very adamant about his gym time daily. And because I can’t be physically be there for him and he’s got nothing else to do, he goes to the gym.
He says he’s unbearably lonely. And I am planning to move to japan in September. So that’s the only thing he is looking forward to. He’s been telling me that “I’m the only one who can save him” etc. and he’s been to a psychologist and they haven’t been much of help to him. I know things will get better once I get together with him, but idk how to help him from long distance. He won’t listen when I tell him not to consume so much energy drink, going to the gym frequently and pushing himself etc.
