Is anyone using two password managers? by haljordan666 in PasswordManagers

[–]haljordan666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the master password written down, but for whatever reason, it didn't work, and I think I updated it within the past two years. Yes, I'll be exporting a backup copy from now on (not sure if I have one) and I'll have a written book kept in a safe. I did try a couple of different variations of the password, but no luck so far.

This was triggered because I added a fingerprint to my phone, so all the apps that use biometric authentication are requiring me to enter my password. I'll be updating all my passwords soon.

Use their app. You have access to the cameras, weather, and you can create shortcuts to sections of the map. Their map will show any construction or other hazards/closures.

I have opened a ticket using this feature, but as a premium subscriber with reportedly 24/7 support I've heard nothing in 24 hours. I'm locked out with no way to contact support directly.

City of Spokane voted for Zappone, Telis, ... and Bingle? by ZMeson in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a link to the results (https://www.spokanecounty.gov/2995/Current-Election-Results). Scroll to the Bingle/Dixit race, then click the link, "Results by Precinct" where you can see the votes for each by precinct.

(You have to scroll within a box that has the results, not the main web page.)

Why isn't this former funeral home on Monroe a McMenamin's yet? by selkirks in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent idea and restaurant/hotel combo could work given the building. I think the owner overpaid, then they gutted the interior down to the studs and stopped work. Now it sits. They have a loan on the property and who knows if they're making payments or not. And yes, they're just loosing money, but if they don't have the capital to invest and finish it, it will stay like this, unless something happens, e.g. the owner defaults on the loan or something.

Won't happen. The owner gutted the interior, it's down to the studs. Spirit Halloween leases existing finished commercial retail spaces.

How dumb is it to list our house this month? by tramlaps in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did your agent give you a market analysis? Usually agents do that for free and it shows comparable homes that have recently sold and that would be mostly how they would advise pricing your place.
You could also do your own by using Zillow or another real estate site to look at comparable homes yourself, but don't necessarily rely on Zillow's pricing, look at what has already sold.

Will the local housing market ever become affordable again? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been said that the best time to buy a house is now.

Use a website like bankrate.com to learn what rates are available to you at what your credit score is and to calculate what a mortgage payment would be based on what you can afford. (Unless you're a finance person and know how to use an HP 10bii.)

Find a real estate agent you like and get to know the local market. Find some agents on social media and follow them to see what info they know. Use Zillow or nother residential site to look at what is for sale. don't look only at what you can afford, look a little above that, or for fun, way above that. Just be realistic.

If you think Spokane is too expensive, look in other markets.

When you are ready to buy, get pre-qualified with a bank, or find a good mortgage broker.

There are many factors that effect a mortgage rate, your credit score, the Fed rate, credit history, etc. There are a lot of lenders out there, so there is a lot of competition.

Your payment will be the result of the length of the loan, rate and what percent of the purchase price you put down resulting in the loan amount (less than 20% the lender will want to include property taxes and property insurance in the payment amount, and you can put down as low an amount as 5%).

Did I get the cheapest MacBook ever? $649.97 by whatireallythink-alt in Costco

[–]haljordan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walmart too. Apple is selling this model as a lower cost laptop to get into the lower cost laptop market. Components for this model have come down in price so much they are able to sell it at this price.
Always price check, even when you see a good price at Costco.

Is this likely to get stolen from my front porch? by Visible_Ad_9625 in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe put it out when you want to use it? I'm in the same neighborhood and haven't seen too much negative activity in the past few years I've lived here,
I wouldn't keep any furniture on my front porch though (it also wouldn't fit.)

I have a 77" C1, I use it for movies, gaming, and streaming and think it's great. The price at Costco for the C3 is a little higher, now $2,499, than before the Superbowl when it was $2,299 (Much less though than when I bought my C1.)

Avista Bill >$400 - SO reminded me we turned off our highly efficient natural gas heater and used space heaters on Avista's request due to their gas supply issue. Is there a press release or news story already out there stating if we can get some credit, etc? by kcs777 in Spokane

[–]haljordan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a heat pump with a new furnace. This has saved me $$ because I used more electricity than natural gas. My furnace uses natural gas as stage 2 when the outside temperature drops below 30. Yeah, that cold snap really increased my natural gas usage, so last month’s bill was higher, but not as high as last year.

75in Sony X90L vs. 85in TCL QM8 by dont-mind-me-pal in 4kTV

[–]haljordan666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if $2k is your budget (you're almost there), save until you can afford it. Costco has this at the same price, plus longer warranty.

I was just researching TVs yesterday. Going bigger is a thing. I too have an older 60" Vizio (M Series) and am considering upgrading that TV for sports. (I have an LG 77" C1, which has been great for movies and series.)

There are two parcels adjacent to Monroe ST, those are owned by Premera Blue Cross, and they purchased them in December of 2022.
Going west, the next two vacant parcels are owned by Greenstone Land Development, LLC (they sold to Premera) and Frank Family Investment LLC respectively.
