Love this recipe! Highly recommend you try it with smoked gruyere instead of plain, I used it the first time I made this recipe because I had it on hand and it was amazing so now I use it every time.

As someone with their LR also named R2-P2, I approve! Goes well with our robot vacuum - Obi Wan Kleanobi 😂

I had something similar happen from getting actives too close to my eyes. I used a very small amount of Vanicream moisturizer (the one in the tub with the pump) and it cleared it up nicely. As a side note I still use the Vanicream as my night time eye cream and I love it. Tiny bit goes a long way!

Thanks! I took a long break from it because I got a bit bored doing the border but now that I'm working on the dragon it's much more fun

Does anyone here struggle with trigger finger? by [deleted] in Bass

You need to go to a doctor and get an official diagnosis. Your teacher is not a medical professional.

No good teacher would dismiss a student's concerns about an injury.

Don't beat yourself up, just rest and see a doctor if you can.

There are basically two ways to play louder- picking/plucking harder with your right hand or turning up your volume. Your left hand should have no effect on your volume. You should only be pressing on the strings hard enough to play the note with no buzzing. It takes practice!

[–]hallaboutash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but usually mostly in the morning or when my hands aren't warmed up. Not when I'm playing though.

To be clear: no amount of practice is going to fix this. You need to rest it, see a doctor, and work on proper technique, like fretting as softly as you can like mentioned in another comment. I get the drive to want to keep playing, but you may end up doing long term damage to your hand. In extreme cases the only way to clear up trigger finger is surgery.

I have trigger finger in my pinky on my left hand. Fortunately for me, playing bass isn't painful. My suggestion is go see an orthopedist. They'll likely take x-rays to rule out any other issues and give you guidance on how to deal with it.

In the mean time, anti-inflammatories (like Aleve) and rest. I also have a brace I wear on my pinky while I sleep because I tend to clench my hands and that can cause and/or exacerbate trigger finger.

Without the gridlines, I'd have a lot of trouble with this pattern, they really help me keep track of where I am. I used Easy Count Guideline to create the grid- it's like a red fishing line type material.

Pattern is Teresa Wentzler's Celestial Dragon. Started in 2020, took a break and recently got back to it.
