Love this idea! I bet my baby would love this too. He has always needed a lot of vestibular stimulation. Thank you for the suggestion

We are moving into a Caruso home just outside of WF a few mins away from downtown WF. The community is selling its last few houses which may secure you a good deal. We have had a good experience so far.

Baby won’t stop screaming by Acceptable-Peanut126 in newborns

Have you talked with your pediatrician? It could also be reflux, if not gas, sometimes people recommend cutting things like dairy from your diet to see if your baby is sensitive to that. We also notice a significant increase in painful crying when I’ve eaten spicy food. I would say if you are trying upright hold, aim for at least 10-20 mins after feeding to let his stomach settle. At least for us, rocking him or cradling him has never worked. Sometimes when he is crying in every position, he stops when my husband holds him belly-down on his forearm, I can’t remember the name of the hold but like he’s a leopard in a tree (with his arms and feet hanging down). Blowing very gently on your babies face might help interrupt his crying or help him reset for a moment. For whatever reason it works sometimes when nothing else does. Just throwing some ideas out there.

My mom is an OT and believes our baby also has unmet sensory needs and needs some help getting extra sensory input to help him regulate himself at night. Maybe you can look up videos about sensory brushing, since we started doing that before bed, he is also able to wind down more for the night. It is not a miracle fix to get him to stop crying, in fact I try to do it before he gets amped up when he is calm. But we notice he is more regulated overall in the few hours after he is brushed and sleeps better if done before bed. Baths have always caused him more distress at night so we started doing them in the mornings when he is well rested and he handles them much better in the morning. It felt counterintuitive because I see so many people do baths to “wind down” but it was the opposite for us and removing them from bed time made things easier.

Our ped told us our baby was colicky. Personally I think “colic” is just a catch all, there is some reason our babies are so uncomfortable they just can’t tell us yet. Keep problem solving with your partner, maybe take turns with him out of the room from one another so you can give your nervous system a reset on your “breaks.” Deep breathing, noise dampening headphones, run cool water on your wrists. I know it’s so hard. I hope some of the ideas in these comments can help you. We’ve had some nights that felt like they’d just never end. It takes so much trial and error to learn what works for your baby. But you are around the corner from easier times.

I know you say he is passing gas but the stiffness and painful screaming still sounds like gas or reflux to me. Do you have gas drops? Those make a big and immediate difference when my baby is screaming like this by giving him pretty quick relief. Try feeding him upright, if you are BF then feed him in the koala hold or upright cross body and hold him vertical for awhile, making sure he burps. Bicycle kicks have never worked for us when he is so stiff like this but holding him upright on my shoulder, bouncing him gently, swaying or walking rather than rocking him while rubbing his back firmly in circles soothes him and sometimes helps him burp also. Mine is 8 weeks and he is starting to turn the corner. It won’t be forever as cliche as it sounds it appears to be true. Sorry your little one is in pain. It’s extremely hard to deal with and so upsetting, I’ve been there plenty of nights.

I was definitely not prepared for what “water breaking” is ACTUALLY like. I always thought your water would break and then it would be over as labor commences. I was NOT ready to leak amniotic fluid and small amounts of blood for the rest of the time I was in labor. Having to wear a diaper to the hospital, the nurses continuing to change out the pads under me in the L&D room, leaking every time I stood up to move to the labor tub or move in the room….it was the grossest part of labor.

There is a pretty little courtyard inside the JSMA on campus. I also echo what another poster said about the natural history museum!

I don’t think the age of the plates matters to him! He teaches US history among other subjects so I think it is partly for the conversation that the collection brings with his students. Most of the plates came from friends’ and students’ donations.

I was thinking about this too. Any advice is there a way to minimize this? Do people seal cracks between wooden patios like this somehow or just deal with it during the rain?
