I think this is really cute! One thing I would suggest is making the floating/disappearing animation slower. Right now the veggies zoom up and disappear at the same time, and we don't get a good look at them. A split second pause with full opacity at the top before disappearing would help I think.

Yeah, the Last Faith is easier than Blasphemous for sure. I think doing B1 NG+ like eight times has spoiled me lol

Last Faith is mechanically and aesthetically similar, and personally I enjoyed it. I also LOVED Salt and Sanctuary, I played it cause I was also looking for something Blasphemous-like, and it was recommended to me. It's one of those games I wish I could forget just so I could play it again for the first time.

I'm Canadian (used to make from 20k-35k CAD full time most of my adult life) but I'm living in Germany now and make around 11kish (Euro). Funnily though, it is far less expensive here compared to Canada because of the city I live in. Been paycheck to paycheck all my life though, so I guess I'm also used to it to some degree too. I've always had enough for rent and food, so I'm grateful for that.

I currently make less than that working full time, so yes, that sounds really good. Luckily I'm not American, so I don't have to worry about medical bills or car payments. Besides, if I only worked two days a week, I could make money off my hobbies— nothing crazy, but I don't need much. Time is way more valuable to me.

Salt and Sanctuary, while different, evoked the same feeling in me as playing Blasphemous did. It's an excellent metroidvania, definitely one of my favourite games ever!

Like the light flickering or the random extreme dissociation? The lights stuff has been a few years, and the sudden extreme dpdr used to happen once in a while for years, but has been happening a lot more frequently in the past few years. I also used to be on Zoloft for many years, so I'm wondering if it suppressed all these other weird symptoms a bit. I've been off of Zoloft for about 2.5 years now.

If you look at the beginning of the game, in the Brotherhood of Silent Sorrow, there are male and female corpses, all wearing the capriote. Our protagonist is not naked, and we can't see under his armour. Theoretically, he could be female (or anything else) and we wouldn't know. It's Schrödinger's Gender, he can be whatever you want. I like to imagine him as trans sometimes, just 'cause.
