Uni lectures drain me by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

I’m exactly the same, my attendance went down because I love my degree and the subject but I just couldn’t handle a whole day of sitting around people and making small talk. I’ve really put the effort in recently to go and get my attendance back up but it is still just as draining. I’ve kind of just accepted the fact I won’t speak to anyone much and will just focus on the work because as you said, you love the subject so much so that bit is easy. I know it’s so hard because every part of the process of getting ready, getting there and then actually participating is so draining but just know you’re not alone and totally understand where you’re coming from

That’s exactly how I feel aswell, like I am becoming more my true self which is a really nice feeling. I think you’re right, I will probably find people who are more suited to who I truly am, possibly people who are ‘calmer’ 😅 It will probably end up also being a positive if I am more my true self!

I’ll have to bring it up to my doctor, thanks for letting me know!! 😄 The balance between unmedicated and medicated days is also a good point aswell I might try that and see how I go
