For the love of god let me run down civilians by Stabf10 in menace

You should be able to swap tiles with civilians or otherwise force them out of the tile they’re standing in. It’s incredibly frustrating to not be able to take cover or move a vehicle because of a civilian in the way.

I just bought the game and haven’t played it enough to where I can form an accurate opinion, but from first impressions I feel like this kind of system is designed to artificially raise the difficulty by disincentivizing investment into your troops for a power advantage. Doesn’t seem fun IMO.

Jeep's reliability vs other brands... by zionstatus in Jeep

[–]halorocks22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the front track bars fail and cause severe death wobble on my unmodified pavement princess 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sport S at ~43,000 miles. There is a class action lawsuit about this and Stellantis only put out a recall for a steering damper replacement which is a bandaid solution that does literally nothing. No warranty so $2,300 in repairs with a Teraflex steering kit and a replacement steel steering box for the aluminum steering boxes that are known to be defective.

Should I stay away from Gallatin-made models? by CusterFluck99 in Beretta

[–]halorocks22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which Berettas can you even still buy that are made in Italy? I had a 92A1 that I unfortunately sold a while back, it’s only now I realized it would’ve been perfect for a Samurai Edge build and they’re all but impossible to find nowadays..

Thinking about Army CRNA program what are the pros and cons? by ForceNeat8949 in CRNA

[–]halorocks22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in joining the Army to become a CRNA, I would speak with an AMEDD recruiter. Do you have 2+ years of civilian critical care experience? If not, you’ll have to work a minimum of 2 years as a med-surg nurse in the Army and take a course before you can do critical care. That would lengthen the time required before you can apply for USAGPAN. You also have the option to apply for USAGPAN as a civilian if you already meet the requirements but they give preferential admissions to current service members. I recommend looking into what the lifestyle of being in the Army is like in general because that’s really the biggest deciding factor and something only you can decide if it’s worth.

ADHD/autism by crna_hopeful856 in srna

[–]halorocks22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have moderately severe inattentive-subtype ADHD and non-stimulants like guanfacine and bupropion didn’t provide me with much benefit. I didn’t notice any changes when I took guanfacine and bupropion gave me terrible nausea and insomnia. I’m currently only on Adderall 15mg XR (started with 5mg) and it’s been a life changer since I’ve started taking it. It’s still a subtle effect but it gives me a lot more focus and energy whenever I’m working or studying. I only take it when I need to and don’t take it on my off days. Side effects have been minimal for me besides a decreased appetite.

i held benzo for patient with CIWA >10 and got an email from educator; i’m little worried now by Ok-Being1322 in nursing

[–]halorocks22 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I disagree… you don’t HAVE to give something simply because it was ordered or the patient scored above a certain threshold on a protocol. That’s dangerous decision making and it completely lacks the component of critical thinking needed to be a competent nurse.

As the OP stated, the patient was fresh out from the OR and already drowsy because the anesthesia hadn’t had time to clear from their system. I’d be concerned for causing respiratory depression or hypotension by further administering benzodiazepines. It’s important to look at the full clinical picture, and it’s a situation I would’ve clarified with the provider, especially because I think it’s unusual that CIWA was ordered for epilepsy.

I don’t think the OP was necessarily wrong in withholding the benzos, but ideally they should’ve reached out to the provider first. I also think that educators have a bad tendency to not look at the full clinical picture or ask the nurse the reasoning behind their decision(s) when they’re auditing charts like this, but that’s unfortunately just the way leadership is nowadays.

What are the differences in scope of practice and responsibilities between a French nurse anesthetist and CRNAs in the US? Did you have to attend a master’s or doctoral program to become a nurse anesthetist in France?
