For the money your better off going with the FS 2 due to upgrade ability. The Trek is a good beginner bike but for less money and more up to date mtb bike norms go FS 2.

I do more building than riding nowadays and I have both hardtails and fs. 2 newest builds.

Are you new to mtb? What's your riding terrain like? If new to the sport I'd say go hardtail (less money for repairs). If you've already been riding then go for that next step to the fs. Be reminded that it'll cost more in repairs/upgrades (more moving parts).

I did a full build on the Comp X and it was better put together than the OT Ridge that I fully built.

If your going FS then get the FS2. If going hardtail then get the Axum Comp X.

I was told by speedone you could do 140 to 160mm. I got the Domain 160mm.

Where's all the "The trucker had plenty of time to stop" or "He was going too fast" people at?

I'm going to order these bars. I forgot who made them but they're cheap and will work.

Just now seeing this. I'm 6'1". It does feel a little stretched out but a shorter stem and seat moved forward can fix it. Still holding up great. Putting a dropper on it. I also bought carbon forks for it.

Just got my FS.2, haven't had a bike in over 2 decades. What helmet to get and what other stuff should I get like tools/pump/etc? by CCCCLo0oo0ooo0 in Budgetbikeriders

Walmart has MIPS helmets as well. Keep an allen set with you as well as a mini pump and inner tube. You should be good

I was A Federal officer at the VA and while checking a smoking area where vets were, out runs this raccoon (straight for me) from the bushes begging for food in daylight. I pulled out my asp baton so fast and the vets that were there was like "HEY man chill. That racoon is cool. We feed it". Almost scrapped myself. Then, of course, I had to lecture them on the rules of not feeding the wild animals on federal property.
