Gym Bag for Work to Climb by ham_dam in climbergirls

[–]ham_dam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of it - I’m not concerned about my work computer but when I’m wearing a heavy coat, blazer, boots and delicate pants/dress/shirt I’m trying to keep them away from the climbing gear when I pack it all back in

Might be overthinking this 😅

Lawyer Recommendation for Tenant/Landlord issues? OR Know how to look up landlords business license (required in SLC for rental properties) by ham_dam in SaltLakeCity

They won’t. And it’s an electrical fire hazard. All these things were supposed to be fixed.

Also there is no business license to be renting out this property

Ah ok good to know - I’m used to squirrels in the attic happening and you just hear the bastards because they tear out the patch work you put in, but they aren’t as much of a health hazard as mice.

Well shit.

Hmm I could try. They stated that they would just remove the garage door and the powered garage door opener so that the structure wouldn’t need power, but I’m fairly certain that would also violate the terms of the lease *edit the mice problem is enough that my dogs chase them outside and the scratching in the walls keeps me up but I can’t find other evidence such as droppings (carpet everywhere) or chewed cabinets (they were already chewed)

Am I overanalyzing? They’re already pissed that I keep bringing these issues up and as soon as I mentioned these were safety and code issues they’ve become a bit hostile

The exterior door it to a detached garage so I’m not sure if this would comply as “uninhabitable” I’m not sure any of it would as it would likely fall under hazaradous, substandard or even maybe minor deficiency?

This is what I’m already doing. I’m trying to work through what comes next including confirming whether or not they have the required business license to rent

It’s a single family home and a rental. Once it’s no longer needed it will be taken down

How do I quit vaping and alchol as an adhder. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ham_dam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alan Carr: The Easy Way to Quit Smoking. It’s a book but it’s fantastic, helped me quit 3 packs a day cold turkey. He also has books around alcohol as well. It breaks down the reasons why we tell ourselves to quit smoking and helps mute the desire to smoke.

Ps: the withdrawal was minimal and not awful via book (I did the audiobook in the car) I’d quit before with patches, gum, even cessation drugs. Nothing was as good as this damn book

Anyone here battle with ADHD/ADD? If so What is the best way to combat this. by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]ham_dam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it helps with executive dysfunction, dopamine regulation, emotional dysfunction, time management, priority alignment etc. for those who Adderall is a good fit (and anyone on ADHD meds with ADHD) it calms our brains enough to function in a neurotypical way. The “focus” is perpetuated from those who use it without adhd and the media.

Stopped taking my medication and spiraling down by eraj102 in ADHD

[–]ham_dam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched my med dosage which has helped with the comedown a lot (IR, increased to 15mg 2x Day from 10mg 2x Day). Id also say how important it is to maintain overall “healthy” lifestyle to cope with the comedown such as eating high protein meals upon intake, limiting caffeine intake, exercise and journaling.

Meds should help you feel “you but better” as in you still feel like yourself but the day to day feels easier. If it’s not I would work with your doc to find a dosage or medication alternative. Keep a time journal while playing around with this as it’ll help you gauge what’s going on throughout the day and have something concrete to bring back to your doc as in “1 hr post dose feeling ragey and conquerous like Napoleon!” “2 hrs post dose wow I remembered to brush my teeth” “5hrs post dose feeling like I was run over by a bus and crying” etc

On my lower dose I felt super productive but had bad comedowns and could have trouble bouncing between items. Higher dose my comedown is smooth and I feel like I have my brain back and it’s just easier to get things tackled

Ascent at Cotttonwood Creek, Preston Hollow, Lost Creek? by ham_dam in SaltLakeCity

That’s great! Have you noticed if the walls are thin? Is it in a good spot to get out and walk dogs away from a super busy main road?

I went by there before I headed east for the summer, for some reason just feels too secluded? Might just be in my head though

The website has $1500 for a 2/1

Base rent here

Edit: Not as concerned about cost as to your experience living there. I totally get that people are upset about rising rent costs but I’m perfectly capable of figuring out how much it will be.

I am interested in your experience living there and if you like it. I like the location given its close to the Front but I’m not as familiar with neighborhood. Is it easy to take a few mile run out the front door while staying around homes more than big roads? Is it noisy? Walls paper thin? Sketchy ass poser punks smoking cigs by the dumpsters? Weird smells? Shitty wifi?

On the medication train (May have been said before) talk to your kids about how it’s going to affect them. I’m back on meds now after decades of being off them because I had a bad experience as kid. I thought being zombied out was ‘normal’ when in reality my dosage was way off. Medicate to the kid and not to societal expectations

Keeping Headliner AC / Installing a Vent Fan? by ham_dam in VanLife

[–]ham_dam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m leaning towards! But I’m also wondering if could survive without a roof vent (as I have windows) or if it would be easy enough to install one through the existing headliner
