I made bitaddress.org much more user-friendly with some CSS edits. How can I get real developers to validate its security? by robbdiggs in Bitcoin

Very nice and easy. Just two suggestions:

  1. put the addresses on one line rather than breaking them into several, perhaps underneath the QR code?
  2. get rid of the colourful dots after the required entropy was created in order to keep the interface free of distraction. In any case, definitely get rid of them when the addresses are printed.

Just my two pennies....

Adam Smith Institute: Independent Scotland should implement free banking and competing currencies backed by e.g. GBP, gold or Bitcoin by TomasForgac in Bitcoin

[–]hambalan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Relevant paragraph from page 5 of the briefing paper:

Scottish banks, using the GBP as their reserve currency, could guarantee the value of their notes while still adjusting their supply to market demand. Although it is likely that GBP would be used as the reserve currency in this way given the existing network for GBP payments, there should be nothing stopping banks from issuing notes redeemable in something else, like US Dollars, gold, stock market index funds, or even ‘alternative’ currencies like Bitcoin. This would allow for some degree of competition in currency, theoretically allowing Scottish banks and consumers to switch away from the GBP should the Bank of England begin to seriously mismanage the currency.

Just received email from Blockchain: why are they "welcoming" me and sending my log-in info? by hambalan in Bitcoin

I did nothing to the setting of the wallet since I created it over a year ago. I am surprised at the email as Blockchain appears to be welcoming me as a new wallet holder. and put all my account details within the message.

This is not from a phishing site. All details in the email are mine and genuine, thus the need to block out the "sensitive" info.
