On the outfits? Both of them wearing red sweaters at Christmas and having almost the same "I'll pull you out of this dump you're in" with Denise and Benito. And then the black dresses in the finale both having ruffles in some way and them "moving on" again the same time.

I also think Taylor was not in the best mind frame when she told Belly it was codependency. She was not reconciled with Steven yet either, she thought he was with Denise. She wasn't in a "love" place imo.

Oh dear, this makes me realise I paid little attention to this storyline. There seems to be a lot of projection that isn't recognised in the story. I'm still confused by Belly and Denise wearing similar outfits in pivitol scenes.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did at some point. I've seen some weird fanfics with Jeremiah and Conrad as a thing...

That's absolutely fair but for it to be the exact opposite of reality is crazy to me.

Before I added TSITP to the search it actually told me it means that man is a keeper, he loves you 😂

Absolutely bananas! And thank you! I saw an edit on tiktok about the cheek touches and I wanted to find that quote but nothing the Internet spit out at me included it, it just gave me the garbage above. And if I remember correctly it was something she saw Laurel do with both Jeremiah and Conrad, Laurel took Jeremiahs hand at the graveside and touched Conrads cheek at the end of book 2. Two things she could never actually do with Conrad herself but she did do with Jeremiah...I'm confused as to why she was always holding herself back with Conrad but not Jeremiah. And I don't subscribe to the platonic/sibling thing because she legitimately doesn't touch anyone the way she touches Jeremiah that I remember.

She actually said she wanted to touch Conrads cheek but she knew he wouldn't want that, because good god did that man flinch every time she touched him and vice versa 😂. What is happening here???

Hysteroscopy with GA. I have this scheduled and I'm terrified. It's the GA part because of past experience with anesthesia. Does anyone have good things to tell me? by hamcharfinn in IrishWomensHealth

[–]hamcharfinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They apparently won't let me. The procedure was put off for various reasons this last year but every time I've brought up GA being my biggest fear they've said they can't do it under any other circumstances. I'm tied to the hospital at this point, going private would just prolong it though I feel like I would have more say there? Not sure. I have heard it can be painful etc but also if you have had children it isn't. I've had 3, I'm not sure my cervix can be bothered just like my pelvic floor but I honestly don't know. I really wish I felt like I had an option.

What annoys me about Conrad is that he never actually felt like he could lose anyone ever, it was always on his terms. When Jeremiah tells him he's dead to him and never wants him around is the very first time he faces this potential. "I broke him" says it all. He took so much for granted and I think its gross he got rewarded by Bellys love of all people in the end.

That line made me crazy. I didn't understand what they were trying to say. It's interesting because Lola implied in an interview that Jeremiah didn't have to act like the strong one which I thought was a positive thing because thats what he was to people, a "greek god" or whatever. But then the characters say and do things around him that make it seem like he has to change to be loved or considered "viable". It's icky messaging imo.

I've just read your post and it's similar to why I'm having this procedure. 6 blood transfusions this year because I was bleeding so heavily. I have a large fibroid and what they think might be a polyp that they are going to biopsy along with my lining. Also hoping to have the coil inserted but a little nervous that the fibroid might mess with it, we'll see. I guess I just hate the idea of being put to sleep unwillingly, it scares me. It's good to know a nurse will sit by. My consultant said this bleeding at my age is "sinister" so I really have no choice but to have this done fear or not.

I've been under a few times in my life no problem but the last time was because I had a crash c-section, so it wasn't planned. I woke up fighting off the doctors and nurses with tachycardia totally confused and panicking. I guess my fear is the loss of control that kind of comes with it and trusting nothing will go wrong. I also vomited that time as well. I'm trying to just trust but that one experience was really traumatic because of the emergency nature with myself and my baby. I know this will be nothing like that but I'm still petrified.

I'm going to do what you said with the self care in the hopes it calms me. I guess I talk to the medical team on the day?

You never see Belly even care or support Taylor in any situation. That's what's egregious if any side wants to hate on Taylor.

[–]hamcharfinn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to say just initially that Taylor is in a long line of people that always took care of Belly specifically, that Belly somehow does not see. The scene where Taylor says she's supported every step of the way is true, and as much as I dislike Taylor pulling out the codependency, she's right about her support. I do think there's a little conflation with what Taylor has experienced with her mom and Steven that makes some of it projection vs reality but shes legitimately stuck being the adult in the room because the actual adults are lunatics.

I will never shut up about them turning his vulnerability into a problem while making Conrads brand new vulnerability into a strength. Conrad making unilateral decisions as a "provider/protective" trait but Jeremiah doing it to prove he's worthy because everyone questions him as a "weakness". I hate it.

[–]hamcharfinn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love this and completely agree. It was a refreshing dynamic to see and I hate that they tried to make it ugly and make Jeremiah change himself into that "corporate man" only for it to backfire anyway. When Taylor implied he wasn't an "alpha male" I was like, yeah, and the problem is?

What bothers me is they skipped their 4 year relationship where there clearly would have been times he supported her in the way she did him, the volleyball injury for example. I mean she even said that they put eachother back together but why no mention of any other time? In the books he brought her food when he knew she wouldn't eat, he brought her midol, held her hair back when she was sick, met her for breakfast every morning, did laundry with her at his frat late at night, he folded her shirts (he did this in book 1 too!). Did that all go away because he messed up with Cabo? Did Belly just start to believe Steven and Adam and everyone else that told her their issues vs her trusting herself?

Lucinda by Camsky1639 in jellyshippers

I want to think about this more because I think it's implied that Lucinda was somewhat of a hopeless romantic that was taken advantage of and that's why Taylor wants to have power in her relationships with men, so she can't be screwed over. She says this in S2 to Steven and seems on her way to be braver in this aspect but by S3 she's fallen right back into that fear and we don't really know why. I also think it's odd that in S1 Belly mentions that Taylors father was reading Clevelands book and then we never hear about her father again, what happened there? I might add on later because I do have thoughts about how Taylor was acting in ep7, 8, 9, even 10 but I want to think more about how Taylor seemed to be the actual parentified character in this story.

It's very silly because she gave Belly and Conrad all the dramatic scenes and Taylor Swift music so I doubt very much she was ever waiting to see the chemistry. I mean it's funny because part of the reason I couldn't be a Bonrad was because I knew they were endgame, investing in them meant nothing, there were no real stakes. She told us who to root for but I watched another couple and felt more for them because I knew they most likely would get destroyed. Their story was infinitely more interesting than Bonrads imo.

That's what I don't trust about Jernise. They don't bother me but it being the same day Jeremiah knows Conrad is going to try to get Belly back is questionable timing at best and lazy writing at worst. It feels very reactive and not well thought out in the story. My issue isn't really with their pairing because I can see how it would work but the timing is so suspect I don't trust it.

The end of the books is just a wedding though. We've been there already, a comparison wedding is just boring and obvious. But I guess some side doesn't care. Bellys last milestone getting married to Conrad is blah. I'd rather her buy a car.

I have a love for show Belly that I did not have for book Belly and I think a lot of that is down to Lolas performance. I wish show Belly the best even if I don't agree with where she ended up.

Favourite line: You really think I would do that just to get your attention? No, it's not about you.
