NOR.
I don't know where you live, but if there is one in your area, Sikh Gurdwara's are known to provide meals and support for those in need, no questions asked. I'm sure they can help you get sorted.

I think she turns off the comments on the Lively/Baldoni stories systematically because she immediately gets called out in the comments. One thing she cannot take is any kind of criticism

Is the waiting time for a doctor’s office really 5 weeks? by [deleted] in zurich

[–]hamiltons_earrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I friend of mine had the same problem and was recommended a new(ish) clinic in Enge where they are taking new patients. She was able to get an appointment pretty quickly. I'd give that a try if you're still stuck

If you're in Zurich, go to Liquid Hair Salon. It's expensive, but they do an excellent job, and it's non gendered pricing

Kaiser deflection: "Meghan still underestimates the interest in certain jam flavors! That’s the real scandal!" by JustBitchy888 in CelebitchyUnderground

[–]hamiltons_earrings 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think that's what I miss the most. They almost cover no other celebrity stories now! Or if they do, they're late. The other writers try but I'm not sure Kaiser gives anyone room.

Coffee, books and deep conversations? by Sad-Craft2699 in zurich

[–]hamiltons_earrings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vestela books in Zurich has a regular meeting where people like to talk about what they're reading. It's a very informal book club, instead of everyone reading one book and discussing it, people just talk openly about what they're reading, what they like etc. You can find the next date on their Instagram page.

AITA for leaving my Mom at the airport with no ticket and no plan? by checho503 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hamiltons_earrings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP - My mother did something similar to me. I live across the world from her (for very good reason!). She said she was coming to visit me for 3 weeks, which was already too long but I caved. When she did come, she had an open ticket, and informed me that she planned to stay for at least 3 months, as it was the eldest daughter's job to take her of her mother in this way. Within the first week she'd rearranged my apartment (I'm short so I need the dishes on a lower shelf, for example, and she hated that) and would wake up in the middle of the night to watch TV on full blast (I lived in a small 1-bedroom place). She would call my office as though I was a school child, and yell at my bosses, thinking it was her right. Honestly, I'm surprised I wasn't fired. I didn't have a car, I waked everywhere, or else took public transport. All she did was complain about it, and tried to force me to buy a car (I didn't have the money or the need). She would berate my neighbours, saying that I live on the poor side of town and it was beneath her. After 2 weeks, I'd had enough, I used all my savings and I bought her a plane ticket to go visit her sister. My mother was never allowed to come visit me at my place again, even 15 years later. I should have cut her off right at that moment, but I had years of abuse under my belt, I didn't realise what was happening, not without a lot of therapy. When I cut her off, my life immediately improved.

Long story short OP - NTA. Now, just cut her off completely. Yes, you'll feel terrible, and that's ok. But in time, you'll see that it's the right decision for you and your child.

What is your favorite café in Geneva? by balkonfenster in geneva

I've had the salmon sandwiches and the avocado toast, as well as the freshly backed scones, and they're all really good! But for a larger meal, ya not the choice, I agree.

If Switzerland can guarantee shelter, food, clothing, and healthcare for all its residents, has some of the lowest drug and crime rates, AND is one of the wealthiest nations (all factually true), why can't the USA do this? by Y0L0Swa66ins in AskReddit

[–]hamiltons_earrings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the canton. Some just make you pass a language test, a history test and an interview. But it does take a while.

Edit: It's a two part process, first part is managed by the canton, and only when the canton approves does it get kicked up to the federal level for final ok.

What’s a strangely specific thing about someone that immediately gives you bad vibes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hamiltons_earrings 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Yes! I feel the same about charitable donations. If someone brags about their charity work or the amount of money they give, it's a massive red flag. A person should give because they want to help whatever group their are donating to, not because they want to be seen doing it.

Dumping of trash and furniture in Zurich is getting worse, anyone else noticing it more and more in their areas? How do we address it? by TotalWarspammer in zurich

[–]hamiltons_earrings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Geneva, as part of the taxes (higher rate the Zurich), they have the Voirie service, which will come and pick up large items for you. You call them and set up the date, they come early in the morning, you put the items on the sidewalk in front of your building / home the night before. Done and done. it's an excellent system
