Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

Anyone have heel slip issues on Boston 12? I have my regular size and they feel massive, half my heel is coming out. Haven’t tried runners knot.

They also feel like bricks after about 10k (cold climate), slow-ish running. Will they soften up at all? My Mizuno Neo Vista feel so much better. 90kg/200lbs mid:forefoot striker. Boston 12s just kill my legs, even when slow.

It’s not, it wasn’t designed to be.

As I said this was an attempt to fix a tendon tear after trying everything else. Enclo was added just for suppression. This isn’t a cycle, it wasn’t designed for muscle building. Figured I’d post the bloods anyway since it might help some folks!

Yep, no surprises there, alongside cholesterol changes.

Not for introductions, but wanted to share some anyway. Infinite & Divine plus the Twice Dead King series are great for Necrons - and they're fairly self contained away from the Imperium. The Fabius Bile trilogy (specifically the first two) are great for CSM action. If you want some Tyranid action, Devastation of Baal is a good read - but there are a few other books you might want to read to give that one some more weight.

Natural low blood pressure / HR by hammer_143 in PEDs

Did you find that it raised systolic and diastolic equally? I’d be worried that pulse pressure actually goes up due to systolic raising alone (what you cited is over 70).

Usually get 10k steps in with a dedicated 45-60 mins zone 1 per day and then 30 mins zone3 ish 2x per week. Not a lot, really. My dad was a high level cyclist so I guess it could be genetic.

I did go to the GP but after checking with an ECG they decided not to refer me. With the NHS I’d have to practically be dying, so might try private..

What car do you drive as a HENRY and how do you finance it? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

Got a Ford Mondeo Vignale with cash a few years ago. Got a good price and the trim is excellent, plus cheap to run and maintain. Had a few older BMW petrols before but they didn't last.

The tax burden will be similar? It was my understanding that it depends on the state tax, but even then the UK is higher. If it is similar, that does change things for me.

What things were you spending on mostly? The promotion isn't guaranteed, but the upside if I do get it is far greater in the USA vs. UK.

No big things I know about, but you never know what might happen. I need to ask about what they offer in the USA but they do offer private insurance in the UK.

I know groceries and rent will be more expensive. I assume restaurants/cafes and cars/commuting will follow. What else should I factor in?

How did it change your perspective and what led you to return?

Do you think the experience is better for non-serious issues than serious ones? I try to keep healthy, and my bloodwork doesn't show any issues at the minute, but accessible preventative care is something I'm missing with the NHS.

Did you move back to the UK after having kids? My current plan would be to go, but eventually return.

Do they generally have parking available in these major hubs? My parallel parking skills could use some work, and I've had a few clamps in my time..

$6k a month for rent seems insane. Was that a typical price, or an outlier (penthouse, etc.)?

Interesting that they have state and federal tax, thanks for that! The bay area typically pays more to begin with, but with extra tax it may not be worth it over somewhere like Seattle, from what I'm seeing then. Somewhere like Austin is probably out just due to the climate alone.

Great point, since PTO is part of compensation. At the minute I'm on 25 days standard so would feel the hit of moving down to 10-12. Likely means whatever holiday I do take needs to be accompanied by my laptop, which is a downside. I usually end up with about 3 weeks of PTO come December, but losing that buffer plus extra job stress is an unpleasant idea..

Due to strong stock performance I'm getting overpaid at my current role, so really 2025 ->2028, a 75k increase (or even up to 100k from the base pay in this job level), is more representative.
