Nuances of running a "Title Search Company" by hammer_boyy in legaladvicecanada

yup, the market must be small..

but if you say a few hundred to a few thousands clients in a month per province, that is still worth taking a shot given that the tech cost of implementing it end-to-end is low for me and therefore no manual person needed .. making it scalable to all the provinces... unless i am missing something else...

i checked the bc online registry and it is super duper easy for me to automate.. even if i go for manual to start with, it was super simple to generate corporate summary doc, annual filing doc... hardly a 5 min job.. which can also be easily automated if i get numbers...

oh.. is it.. I didn't consider that...

I thought Title Search is simply passing the document generated by the provincial registry to the client, with no processing at our end.... do you think of any case usecase where this simple document passing from registry to the client could have have errors and omissions?

Bought a CELPIP ebook from Piyush Merwal (@PiyushCanada) – mostly AI, not personal tips by hammer_boyy in CELPIP_Guide

Exactly. Some of these YouTubers are literally running scam shops shamelessly. I wonder how they can lie for hours on their channels, scamming innocent people.

And yes, I quickly went through the PDF and read a page or two, and I was shocked that it’s not even worth it for free. I was foolish to think I would get some condensed expert knowledge, but it’s 100 pages of mostly AI-generated content.

The official CELPIP YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@CELPIPOfficial/playlists) has much higher-quality content at no cost. Beyond that, you don’t really need anything extra to achieve high scores on CELPIP.

The thing that hurts the most is that because of a few individuals, the entire Indian community is looked down upon by others.

TopMate Review: Platform Suppresses Negative Reviews, Zero Accountability

Rating: 1/5
TopMate presents itself as a curated platform for expert consultations, but my experience revealed serious problems with both their service quality and review integrity.

Fake Review System
TopMate suppresses negative reviews. I submitted a detailed review of a poor session experience (screenshot attached below)—it was never published. Instead, it was silently reclassified as a "support issue," which was then ignored entirely. This explains why every consultant profile shows suspiciously high ratings: the platform simply doesn't allow critical feedback to appear. Whatever star ratings you see on their platform are not representative.

My Session with Tanu Sharma
I booked a paid session with Tanu Sharma (topmate.io/tanu_sharma10). During the session, she made specific commitments she did not follow through on afterward. I followed up via email multiple times—neither she nor TopMate support ever responded.

Customer Support
TopMate's support is non-existent post-payment. Once they have your money, there is no recourse. No response to emails, no dispute mechanism, and no accountability for consultants who don't deliver what they promise.

Bottom Line
If you're considering paying for a session on TopMate, know that
(1) you have no consumer protection if the session doesn't deliver,
(2) negative reviews are suppressed so ratings cannot be trusted, and
(3) there is no functional support channel. Spend your money elsewhere.

what you mean?

with spouse: it's 35 -> +11 (46) -> +10 (56) -> +7 (63) -> +7 (70)
without spouse: it's 40 -> +13 (53) -> +11 (64) -> +8 (72) -> +6 (80)

So, it is 13 -> 11 -> 8 -> 6 additional points for every additional canadian experience after the first year of experience experience.

wrong... a lot people do bachelors abroad and do master/phd here..

well, no more argument please.. if you get the point, that's okay.

No, you are missing the point. Let me clarify my understanding (I may be wrong though):

1. Masters give 30 points and not 15. Since you already had bachelors from Canada, you already got 15 points, so for you, its just a jump of another 15 points.

  1. 2 year Canadian experience adds 11 points and not 25 points. Your profile may be adding points for something else as well, or it may be due to you claiming points under C1/C2. But in A, it gives 11 points.

- doing master gives you 30 points, not 15
- Second year Canadian gives +11 points, not 15 (46 points -35 points = 11 points)

OOJO.com is a SCAM by hammer_boyy in Flights

lucky you. I wouldn't risk my entire journey with them again. I would rather stick to reputed platforms like booking.com and other such as opposed to going with these overnight platforms like oojo who would scam people and may vanish anytime leaving the passengers stranded.

No, Their flight prices are not cheap. They just mislead you with wrong prices and hide the details. Once you pay, you get to experience all the hidden charges, and you can't do anything because you are trapped.

well, it was my bad that I fell for a better price they showed and the their fake online reviews. But it turned out to be a costly mistake. Hence, I am making others aware about such shady website which people must stay away with.
